Chapter Ten

The very next day, Madeleine woke up in his room at Mansion Madeleine, his home.  He immediately blinked confused as he could have sworn he was just with Espresso at the lower city in that weird mud mountain- well, secret base Madeleine corrected himself. Madeleine got up from his bed and he went to open the door and saw his aunties doing their chores cleaning the house, everything seemed normal... 

Madeleine walked up to his second auntie since she was the closest to him and asked, "Auntie, how did I get back home?" Madeleine was surely confused, how did he end up here? He was with Espresso was he not? Was it all just a dream?

Madeleine's second auntie perked up and smiled, "Oh darling! Your awake!" Madeleine's second auntie greeted her with a smile, "How was your beauty sleep? You did sleep almost the whole day yesterday and today's whole morning along with the evening as well, it's dawn now." 

Madeleine smiled cheerfully, he did not notice the amount of time he slept as he was curious about the answer to his question, "I am feeling very well Auntie!" Madeleine answered, still waiting for his answer.

Madeleine's second auntie smiled right back at him, "Oh and to answer your question darling!" Madeleine's second auntie then answered as she took out a scroll and handed it over to Madeleine, "A kind gentleman came up here and dropped you off on a bench on our porch, he said you have fallen asleep looking for a specific friend, which I assume Espresso, and kindly brought you back up here!" 

"Thank you, auntie," Madeleine thanked quietly with a smile and begin to inscroll the letter.

"Though I do not understand how you could fall asleep during your search, in the lower city of all places!" Madeleine's second auntie then lightly scolded, "Someone bad could have kidnapped you or done something horrible to you when you're asleep! You're lucky enough the kind gentleman found you before anyone else did!"

"Aha sorry auntie" Madeleine apologized nervously, "I didn't mean to worry you."

Madeleine's auntie sighed as she rolled her eyes, "I guess it's alright since you've never lacked off like that, but anyways he has quite a strange taste in fashion," Madeleine's second auntie accepted the apology and continued speaking, "I have never seen anyone up here wear such dark gothic clothing, I wonder if he thought it was Halloween. I could have sworn Halloween just passed a few months ago."

"Ah! His ribbons behind him were quite stunning and realistic!" Madeleine's first auntie then joined in as she talked to Madeleine's second auntie, "The dragon heads also made him fashionable! They also looked quite cute don't you think? The way they were staring at Madeleine in pure awe!"

Madeleine paid no attention to them as he was busy reading the scroll.
