Morning came and sunlight woke Max up. For the first time in his whole life, he woke up without an alarm or his dad or Y/n shaking him awake. It was a peaceful morning. No PJ or Bobby snoring. Heck not even his dad bothers him.
He wondered what woke him up so peacefully, he was never a morning person. But soon a recollection of last night flooded his brain making him grin. Finally, the girl he liked, probably for far longer than he thought said she liked him back.
PJ and Bobby were nowhere to be seen. But Max couldn't care less. He had an amazing girlfriend to get to. He stopped in his tracks realizing they never really agreed on meeting in the morning. He grabbed his phone and dialed her number.
By that point, the early bird Y/n was up. She had set her phone on the bed and walked up and down her room just staring at it. In her head a debate about wherever to call first or let him.
She knew he would never wake up early. So when she woke up as soon as the sun shined through her blinds, annoyed she forgot to close them and waited. She showered, had breakfast, and did her best at looking good today. She always minded her appearance, but today she just wanted to look perfect.
The phone stared back at her almost in a mocking way. She almost gave up waiting for a call when suddenly it rang to life. She launched for the bed and looked at the caller's ID and was sure it was Max. She might have added a small heart near the name, I'll leave that up to your imagination.
She looked at the screen all panicked but forced herself to take a few deep breaths to calm down and not seem overly obvious she was waiting for a call.
<<Yes?>>
~yes!? Why just yes? Say good morning or something!~
<<Hey y/n/n! Um, I realized we never agreed on meeting this morning. Uh, would you like to have breakfast together?>>
~Ugh why can't I be chill about it? I just had to go and do it.~
<<Y-Yes of course! Why not!>> She cheerfully agreed.
<<Cool, well. I'll see you at the cafeteria?>>
<<Oh well yes. Um, what time?>>
<<Well in 30 minutes?>>
<<Yeah totally. Sounds lovely. See you there.>>
There was an edge to her voice. And Max knew it all too well. She was nervous. She almost stumbles on her words, something she does when she's nervous.
<<Well cool, by the way, Y/n, that stuttering was cute.>> And he cut the call.
He was excited about it all. But after knowing her for years he was pretty calm after a good night's sleep. The idea had settled already. They were always close. Though Max. The only thing that changes is now I can kiss her.
Y/n was sweating bullets. She showered again and changed clothes. She looked in the mirror to see if her outfit choice was fine. Finally, after gathering her courage, she had no idea she had any left after the stunt she pulled last night and descended to stairs.
On the way down she met Brad.
He had slipped from her head.
"Hey, brat."
"Hey Y/n, I see you made it home safe. Wait why are you all dolled up."
"What do you mean dolled up? I always dress well."
