The scene begins with Mercedes walking in front of the Cheerios.

"Why do you look so nervous?" Sam asked curiously as he noticed the worried expression of his girlfriend on the screen.

Before she could answer, Sue chimed in, "because she is publically defying me."

Mercedes rolled her eyes at Sue's dramatics.

"What is she doing?" Kurt asked Brittany, who shrugged knowingly.

"I didn't know you were on the Cheerios, Kurt." Blaine smiled.

"Ah yes," he nodded solemnly. "It was nice to shine outside of the glee club and it was pretty fun until the end."

Mercedes reaches for the microphone and addresses the rows of students and teachers sat before her.

"I remember being so scared of such a big audience." Mercedes chuckled. "Looking back, I don't know what I was so worried about; it was really fun."

"You were brilliant," Tina beamed.

"...brilliant at what?" Blaine questioned curiously.

"Just watch and see."

"Hey, guys. I'm Mercedes Jones." She exhales deeply, "So most of you know Cheerios is about perfection and winning, Iooking hot and being popular."

"My pride and joy," Sue stated proudly.

The scene showed Kurt's confused frown. Sue leaned towards a man beside her, who was writing notes. "Still building the tension."

Mercedes continued to speak. "Well, I think that it should be about something different."

Kurt smiled.

The scene showed Sue. Her expression was one of annoyance and nerves.

Mr Shue smirked in satisfaction; proud that one of his students had managed to surprise Sue.

"How many of you at this school feel fat?" Mercedes asked. Quinn raised her hand first, with others following after her.

"Oh Quinn! You're pregnant!" Blaine grinned cheerfully.

"You know, I really love it when you point that out." She stated sarcastically, crossing her arms. "Kurt, you never mentioned how observant your boyfriend is."

Kurt rolled his eyes as Blaine frowned in confusion.

"How many of you feel like maybe you're not worth very much? Or you're ugly, or you have too many pimples and not enough friends?" Mercedes asked as more people raised their hands. "Well, I felt all those things about myself at one time or another." She shook her head sadly as the scene showed Kurt's downcast espression.

"I'll never let the idea of being 'popular' get in the way of my friends, again," Kurt sighed regretfully.

"Hell, I felt most of those things about myself today. And that just ain't right. And we've got something to say about it." She announced, gesturing to the Cheerios behind her. "And if you like what we have to say come down here and sing it with us."

"I'm so happy I get to see this again," Artie beamed.

The music begins to play as Mercedes starts to sing. "Ooh. Yeah. Every day is so wonderful. And suddenly, it's hard to breathe."
