The replacement of the Embodiment of Lightning Adhira, Talia Kaminari was once a normal human girl before a divine strike of lightning struck her family boat when they had gotten caught up in a storm at sea. As Talia opened her eyes she could taste a metallic tang on her tongue, wondering how she was even really alive while it felt like her entire body was full of energy. It was then she realized she was no longer on her family boat; she was now in some sort of elaborate throne room.
She stood up and, feeling drawn towards the throne, placed her hand on the smooth metal only for her to feel another strike of lightning hit her body, this time she felt her entire being change. She writhed on the ground in pain as the transformation took its course, the woman seeing flashes of the Embodiment and gaining the understanding she was to replace her as she became the goddess of lightning.
When she had finished her transformation, she immediately went back to earth, looking for her family only to find out they had died that fateful day... that had taken place seven years ago.
Now Talia is trying to find her place in the world, having gone back to her previous job as a publisher as she tries to control and understand her powers while attempting to avoid both monsters and gods alike, struggling to hold onto her humanity.
