My brain needed an authentic narrative to make sense of what happened on my campus parking lot.I needed to see Riri because my desire for answers got the better of me.I needed answers of how i ended up in the hospital, why had she not come to see me and suddenly wants to talk, if Justin and her are now a thing.At this point i dint want to leave any room for uncertainty.
I had been so consumed in my thoughts i dint realize i was already knocking on Riris front door.I told Ken i had an errand to run and that i wouldn't need a ride today.After a while the door opens and the only Justin stands gracefully in the doorway, looking like the worst fuck boy ever.Shirtless.He was beautiful and attractive.The sun reflecting on his brown eyes.He has a smooth, spade shaped beared,a devil's forked beared.I wanted to feel them in my fingers.His face a flicker with curiosity over a genial smile as he stared down at me.
"Hey?..I..I..Is..."I couldn't even form a sentence.
"Come in Lena."
"Ummm am Selena,"
"I know.Lena is a short form."
"No.Its Sel."
He just stood there smiling down at me.Stairing at my lips like i was saying some magical words.He then took a step forward.I was staring deep into his almond shaped eyes.He took another step completely closing the space between us.An earthy scent swirled around him.I closed my eyes ready for him to kiss me but no, nothing.Opening my eyes disappointed i see him reach a pot of soil that was hanging right above my head on the porch.
"Move aside, i think its about to break"
"Whatever."
"What?"he asked looking down at me as i move close to the door.
"Is Riri in?"
"No you just missed her,"he said adjusting the pot.
"Will she be long?"
"Yeah, maybe two hours."He said his dishy masculinity making it hard for me to look anywhere else but at them.
"So she let you stay at her house?Shirtless?Are her parents not home?Do they approve you sticking around even when she is out?"
"Jeez!!!.."he smiled then continued"What was the first question again?Yeah her parents are okay with me staying here.Yes they are around.You could get in and say hi to them."he said clearly irritated.
What was i doing.I turned around and ran.Not caring to look behind.I had no right of being jealous.Justin knew my name alright.But that is all.Wait, he remembered me.Its more than a month since i met him at the studio and he remembered me.That is something.No its not.I mean he is Riris boyfriend who is practically my sister, so he is my brother-in-law.I hope i see Riri tomorrow at school.No one ever has to know of my crush towards Justin.Its probably a fling i will get over with.I have to be a good friend and support Riri that if she still even sees me as her friend.I thought to my self as i ran.

Today my only mission is find Riri and have a conversation with her.But its already after noon and i have not seen her around.When i call her it goes straight to voice mail.I guess i will have to pass by at her place again after college.I decided to go at our spot, a place Riri and i would always go just to gossip or tell the other a secret and have our moment.
As i reached at the rooftop of the administration block i couldn't help but close my eyes and let the wind brush over my face.Inhaling the fresh air.I had not realised how frustrating and lonely college can be without my best friend, just then i hear someone clear there throat.
"Am sorry i dint know you are up here.I can go if you want."Riri said with sadness evident in her voice.
I ran into her arms and hugged her so tight.She was reluctant and did not hug me back, just as i was about to pull away she embraced me even tighter.Deeping the hug her nose on my hair, inhaling on my shampoo, her face buried in my shoulders.We stood there in each others arms for what felt like forever until she finally said"I missed you love,"suddenly i felt something warm on my shoulders.She was crying.I just hugged her until my arms felt numb and we had to let the other go.
"I missed you too," I said grabbing her hands in mine."I have so many questions for you."
"I know,"she said putting her backpack down as she laid on the concrete floor closing her eyes facing the sky.I followed suit, waiting for her to speak again.
"Start on how i got to the hospital please.The night is still a blur."
"That night you scared the shit out of me.I thought you were going to die Sel,"She said as she reached for my fingers and squeezed them."My cousin found you lying on the kitchen floor.He needed help to get the drugs out of your system.He called saying a girl had overdosed and he did not know what to do.So i went upstairs to his room and i found you Sel.Lying there unconscious and helpless.We decided to call 911 because your temperature was too high and you were sweating like really sweating.When the ambulance came i went in with you to the hospital.I then called your parents and explained your situation."She went silent for a moment and i squeezed her fingers for her to continue. "When your parents arrived, your father was really angry and he shouted at me telling me to stay away from you.That am the one leading you astray.Am a bad influence on you."
"He did whaaaaattt?"I cut her from continuing."Oh my God Riri am really sorry.I had no idea.Am sorry"
"Of course you had no idea.I was really hurt Sel.So i decided to keep my distance.Tee always told me how you were doing and am glad you are okay.I would have never forgiven myself if anything happened to you Sel."
"Nothing happened love.Am here ain't I?"I said opening my eyes and sleeping on my side so that i could face her.
"Your father was right though, i was the reason you went to the party on the first place.But am glad you are fine."she said sleeping on her side facing me.We looked into each others eyes not saying a word, just living in the moment.Suddenly her phone rang someone had sent her a message.
"My cousin is here to pick me up.Lets go home."
"I will meet you at the parking lot,let me drop my assignment first, today is the deadline."I said getting up glad that her boyfriend Justin is not here to pick her up but her cousin.I will ask about her relationship with Justin some other time for now i had to face my father.I was so angry at my him.How could he accuse Riri of my carelessness, and my mother just standing there doing nothing, not trying to defend her.I thought they all saw Riri as a daughter.I was beyond pissed and ready to start a war.I drop my assignment and head to the parking lot.I spot Riri and get into the car with her.After backling my seat belt i extent my hand for Riris cousin not being able to see his face clearly.
"Hi? Am Selena.Nice to meet you.I have heard so many things about you."
"Yeah Lena.Am sure you have"
Wait, i rub my eyes and pinch my chicks just to make sure i was not in my imagination of him again.
"JUSTIN!YOU ARE RIRI'S COUSIN!!!".
