I wake up alone with Lulian.
Where's mom?
Lulian's still asleep. On the shelf next to the bed I find a note in my mother's hand writing: 'went to get groceries be back at 10.'
I look at my phone, it's only 9.
"Lulian." I gently shake him.
"What." he mutters into the pillows. I lean down, my mouth practically against his ear. "My mom's out. Should we pick up where we left." I brush my lips against his skin.
He turns to face me. "Is that even a question." He pulls me onto him. His lips press against mine.
I wiggle my lower body other the part of his body that is getting very hard.
We end up naked and I manage to get him inside off me.
With Lulian's guidance, I do what the pink haired host told me to do.
"Alex?" I lie on my stomach. Lulian's standing by the sink, cleaning himself off with a towel.
I rest my head on my arms. "Yes, Lulian?" I smile sweetly.
"I love you." He smiles back at me. "I love you too." I push my self up.
We get dressed. For a split second Lulian's brown eyes turn purple-black as he stares off in to the distance.
"What are you?" I ask quietly. "I'm a demon, Alex." He sighs.
A demon? A fucking demon is in love with me? That can't be right.
I love a demon but how could a demon love me.
"Alex." He looks back at me. "Please don't let what I am change the way you feel about me." His eyes are so sad and fearful.
"It doesn't." I step toward him. I cup his face in my hands.
He closes his eyes and melt into my hands. "But it does scare me." His eyes snap open.
"Please don't fear me." Tears stream down his face. "I promise not to hurt you." I hug him.
Somehow it's like he's younger and smaller than he really is.
"What's going on here?" Mom opens the door. Lulian instinctively push me away from him.
"Oh nothing." He smiles. And just like that he becomes a different person. Not a single hint that he was just crying.
"So I gave in my resignation. When do we leave?" She places her groceries on the counter next to the sink.
"As soon as I hook Artemis to the caravan." He walks out of the caravan to do so.
"He's very secretive." Mom says to me.
"What do you mean?" I play dumb.
"He only confides in you. He wouldn't let anyone else see him in a vulnerable position. Just you." She has a pleased smile on her face.
"Yea..." I smile back. The window by the bed opens. "All set, please lock the door behind you." Lulian says on the other side. He turns around. "Walk on, girl." He urges Artemis on.
The caravan moves at a steady pace. My mom and I sit on the small couch next to the bed.
Mom fell asleep on me. I hold her small body in my arms.
"Alex." Lulian leans in through the window. "We're about to enter a tunnel. This tunnel will take us to Romania. After that we'll go to my home village. My parents are expecting us." He turns back to Artemis.
I doze off with my mom.
Heart beating rapidly. I'm breathing heavily. With my back against a wall I hide. I have no idea what I'm hiding from.
"Alex." Lulian shakes me softly. Jump up, waking my mother. "What now?" She's very confused. "We're here." Lulian opens the door of the caravan.
We follow him out. It's cold. The caravan is parked next to a ginormous castle.
