"There is a cute little viewpoint overlooking the ocean. Why don't we take a visit?" I paused while Skeppy thought about it, "It's going to take a small hike to get there, though."
"Fine by me!" Zak replied enthusiastically. We hopped into the car and drove for about fifteen minutes. Google Maps thankfully brought us directly to the parking area next to the trail, and we got out of the car.
I grabbed two extra water bottles in case it would be a far distance, and handed one of them to Skeppy. He had brought a little backpack, which was in the back of the rental car, and offered to carry both of the waters himself, to which I gladly accepted.
The hike down to the viewpoint took forty-five minutes, and a gorgeous sunset was coming up over the mountains. Nobody else was around, and the two of us sat on the wooden bench overlooking the lake. Mountains with snow starting to melt in the spring weather decorated that back of what looked almost like a painting.
I got a little caught up in the moment, and noticed Zak's hand sitting beside me on the bench. My own hand drifted towards his and fell on top of it. Skeppy flinched slightly, and I could sense that he was a little nervous. It was now or never, if he wasn't going to say anything, I would.
"Skeppy, I need to ask you something."
My words blurred together into a near unintelligible slur, but he got the point. I heard him swallow a little, and move his hand away from mine. Clearly, this wasn't a very good start.
"Um, what did you want to talk about?" My heart was pounding in terror now. I felt like I could hardly breathe, but surely he would say yes? He had too.
"I- I really like you, Zak. As m-more than friends. I want to take things a little further in our relationship...?" Thats it Bad, be a mature adult.
"Darryl I can't. I need to go and think," Skeppy hurriedly left and I felt utterly heartbroken. Why had I done that?!? I shouldn't have said anything...
Zak Pov
I felt myself panting, and decided it would be a good time to stop running. There was no way I could head back to the car, so I'd ended up taking a detour and ran into the woods. It wasn't very dense, so I easily found the parking lot. Instead of heading to the truck, I went in the exact opposite direction and called an UBER to a hotel. They picked me up in twenty minutes, the moonlight now illuminating the tar of the road.
I quickly texted Dream and Sapnap (As I didn't have George's number) and told them it was complicated and I'd be at a hotel for the night. Thankfully, they understood and chose not to question it. I felt queasy and conflicted. I mean, Bad was great, but as more than a friend? Perhaps things would make more sense in the morning...

498 Words! I would have wrote more, but it was my great-grandmas birthday and I didn't have time :) Happy ninety-second! Anyways, I am so happy that you guys have read to this point! So far, I have up to chapter twelve outlined, and the final book should end up around fourteen chapters, which I feel like is acceptable. For every 100 reads I get, I will add one more chapter :)
