It was now the time that I'd dreaded. With the way Skeppy had been acting, for sure he was going to confess his feelings for me. I mean, it was OBVIOUS. The constant flirting, the nervousness, it all added up!
Skeppy was in the living room and walked into the bedroom, this was it.
"Was there.... something you wanted to tell me earlier?" I tried to be as inconspicuous as possible.
"Uh yeah," Skeppy twiddled his fingers, "It's just that- Elora has been really getting along with Rocco, so, I asked you to keep her, but do you mind if I do? Or maybe we could trade back and forth?!?"
Needless to say, that wasn't exactly the question I had been expecting. But what could I say? What could I do??
"It's fine," My voice cracked a little, "I truthfully didn't have space for another dog, and you have a big yard, so.."
Zak let out a sigh, "Thanks Bad! I honestly really appreciate it. Seriously! With that out of the way, did you want to go out for ice cream? I'm all stressed, lol."
"S-sounds good," I was still overwhelmed. What I muffinhead I was! Thinking that Skeppy liked me. But wait, did I like him? No... that couldn't be! We'd been best friends for years, why change it all up now? A small part of my mind still couldn't shake off the disappointment, but I bottled up my emotions and grabbed me belongings. A nice ice-cream date- ERM, ice-cream trip would clear my mind for sure.
...Timeskip to Baskin Robbins
"Awh you guys are so cute together!" The server said, and Skeppy spoke up, "Um, actually we're just friends-"
"Oh. My apologies!" She laughed nervously, "So did you want a cone or a cup?"
"A waffle cone please!"I said, and Skeppy got a regular one. I chose vanilla ice cream and Zak bought two scoops of chocolate with whipped cream and syrup.
"You're so predictable!" He laughed, "Seriously? Vanilla?" Zak took a big bite out of his ice cream, "At least try something new!"
"It's just such a good combination!" I licked my ice cream, "Who needs complicated things? Sometimes the basics are just as good!" I nudged him, "Maybe you should try vanilla sometime."
"Fine... I guess you have a point," Skeppy admitted, "Shall we go home now?"
"Actually," I spoke a bit slyly, "I have a better idea."

399 Words! It's a Tuesday, but I was in the mood to write. Here is your tiny update! Tysm for 74 reads, that's a LOT more then I expected! I'm thinking that this book will be fourteen chapters...? For every twenty reads this book gets I will add on one more chapter, lol. <3
