Silence. A dark void. That's all I could hear and see. There was nothing around me, there was nothing I can do. But in a way, I feel... calm. It's like if I'm sleeping and aware of it. I can't really describe it with words.

An image appeared in front of me. My eyes are still closed, yet I could see it. A loading bar. The logo of Arasaka and hundreds of lines of code were all around, telling me exactly what was being turned on inside my body.

First, I regained my hearing. Two voices where speaking near me. Males, around their fourties. One of them I do recognise. My captor. The other, I do not. A buyer, perhaps?

I could feel my limbs. No clothes on. Strapped on a chair. Cold air hitting my nape. I was still on my cell, where they test my abilities. Dr. Makoto spoke to the other man about my upgrades, my... skills.

Dr. Makoto:"He's the only sucessful test subject. Capable of withstand all the hardware and software inside him. All his limbs, skeleton and some muscles were changed by robotic implants made with titanium."

???:"How is that possible?"

His voice. Russian accent. Extreme deep voice. Smoker, perhaps?

Dr. Makoto:"Trial and error Mr. Ivanov. Hundreds of times have I tried and this one is the only one I managed to get it correctly."

True. 18 years ago, I could hear the voices of other people in the other cells. They were all silenced.

The computer inside my brain was activated. I can detect the presence of a Netrunner in a nearby room, making sure I don't do anything funny. Idiot.

20 years is a lot of time. More than enough to prepare a proper escapade. First, I installed a program to hide my connection to the Netrunner and prevent him from actually disconecting my computer. That way, I could use all the time I was supposed to be 'asleep' to gain intel.

The internet has been my home. I learned about the outside world, about many things other humans like me do that I couldn't enjoy. Till now. I've studied the facility for years. Every room, every guard, their shifts, armament. All possible escape routes and outcomes...

I'm finally getting out of here. But I have to be patient. A couple of minutes is nothing compared to all the time I've been here.

Using my hacking abilities I got into the security cameras. I can see myself, sitting in that chair inside my cell. The other cells, like I said before, are empty. Dr. Makoto and a blond man were on the other side of my room, staring at me.

I went to the second security camera. A corridor. Two guards. They look more like bodyguards than the usual guards MiliTech has around. Dressed up in tuxedos and armed with handguns.

The third camera shows what I was interested in. A Netrunner, looking at me, constantly scanning me for possible attempts of hacking.

Good. Now, I'll just pretend for a little bit till is time to... "Catch some z's" as one of the guards said.

Ivanov:"What can he do?"

Dr. Makoto:"What can't he? Powerful computer on his brain that rivals the most powerful netrunner technology, armour around his body to withstand heavy caliber guns, implanted blades on his wrists, a cannon that can fire tank projectiles on his left arm, a Sandevistan MK. 2, thrusters on his feet to increase his velocity... my boy is the closest thing to Superman that we will ever have."

Ivanov:"Can you assure me he's obedient? Such a powerhouse must be on a leash."

Dr. Makoto:"Ah, he is. The first program I installed on his brain was a autodestruction secuence. If he ever tries to go rogue or hurts anyone marked as ally, his head will immediatly blow up."
