"Now Layla when we get over there I want you to behave yourself young lady okay". Mum said while walking me to Mama A's house she had to go work and TT had to go to the hospital for a check up.

"I will ma"I said giving her a smile. 
Ringing the door bell to Mama A's house, the door opens revealing Mama A.

"Hey honey, I was waiting for you" she said giving my mum and hug and picking me up.

It's not the first time I've been here and I'm pretty comfortable with Mama A.

"Thank you Mama A, mum had her appointment today and I couldn't leave Layla home alone" my mum said.

"Nonsense Girl, I always told you to bring her here, I love watching over her plus my grand baby just got here, i think they gone be good friends" Mama A said while poking my cheeks.

"Okay Mama A,Thank you once again my mama gon be here soon, bye Mama A bye Summer I love you". My mum said giving me a kiss on my head.

Once inside I could heard a cry. "Mama A who's crying" I said looking around.

"That's my grandbaby Kendrick, his been crying since his mama dropped him here today" Mama A said.

Nodding my head "can i go talk to him, my mama said that if we see someone sad we should try and cheer them up"

"Okay baby lets go, you so kind just like your mama" Mama A said smiling at me.

Stepping in the room I'm guessing is going to be Kendrick's room I see him sitting on the floor crying and he turns to look at me.

"Hello" I said walking in.

He doesn't say anything so I sit next to him and after what felt like a few minutes he finally talks.

"Who are you" he said wiping his nose.

" My name is layla, I stay at the house next door,why are you crying?"  I said turning to look at him.

"Hi Layla, I want to go back home" he said.

"Where is your mama?" I asked.

"She's gone back home, she said she doesn't want me to stay with her anymore" he said crying again.

"listen you have to stop crying,my mama said we should not cry about things we cannot control and if it makes you feel better I will be your friend and I'll tell my mama to let me come and play with you often" I say smiling.

"Really" he said smiling.

"Yes but first you have to go wash your face and blow your nose"I said laughing

"Okay Layla" he gets up and run to a another room am guessing is the bathroom only to come back with a wet face and no shirt on.

" I blew my nose with my shirt so I'm going to change please do not tell Grandma" he said.

And just like that we became the best of friends and both Mama A and TT would sometimes take us to the park to play or we would go get ice cream whenever my mum did not have work.
He would teach me how to ride a bike and I would teach him how to read.
We would fight the other kids at the park and steal the pies TT made.
I was the princess and he was the Prince Charming.

Until one morning, My mum was making breakfast and TT was making my hair cause I was going to get ice cream with  Kendrick later and go to the park when we heard Mama A talking loud with Some woman it seem like they were arguing.

"Kendrick is my child and I'll do whatever I want with him" the woman said.

TT toke me outside with her and I see the woman open the car door as Kendrick entered with his head down.

"Samantha his my grandchild too and I'll always be your mother but you have to change ya attitude" Mama A said.

"Mama you ain't have to worry about me or Kendrick anymore cause I won't be bringing him around you ever again she said entering her car.

"Samantha leave the boy with me- bye Mama" she cut Mama A off driving away with Kendrick in the car.

"That girl don't lose her damn mind talking to her mama like that, layla honey you go back in am gonna go check on Anna ok" TT said to me.

"Okay grandma" I said going back in and walking past my mum and going to my room.

I didn't want Kendrick to go, he was my best Friend and I didn't even get to say goodbye

I began to cry.

Now

"Kendrick, boy you remember Little Layla right" Mama A said looking between Kendrick and I. 

"I never forgot about you" he said smiling and coming for a hug.

"You didn't blow your nose on your shirt did you" I said laughing.

"I know you would beat me up if I got close to you like that" he said.

"Y'all talk I'm gonna go check on TT" Mama A said walking out the door.

"Look at you Layla, all grown up and everything " he said smiling as he sat on the stool.

"I've always been grown but at least you've grown tall I thought you were still going to be short" I said smiling back at him.

"Haha very funny, when did you come back" he asked with a smile.

"Been here for a while, when did you come back though?"i asked while sitting on the stool.

"I've been here for a while too, so how have you been?"he asked.

"No way I mean I come over here almost every weekend but I'm well how bout you?"I asked.

Just then I heard some footsteps coming from the stairs and a little girl with pigtails comes running to Kendrick.

"Daddy, Daddy look at what I drew" she said with a paper in her hands.
