Bella's POV

Returning to the office after a lunch break at a nearby five-star restaurant, I decided to take a tour of the premises to check on the progress of the employees. Conversing with the factory manager, I was pleased to hear that everything was running smoothly in his department.

Next, I made my way to the shop, observing the workers and ensuring that they were fulfilling their duties efficiently. Satisfied with their performance, I returned to my office to tackle some paperwork.

Glancing at my phone, I realized it was already 4:30 PM. Deciding to wrap up early, I packed my belongings and prepared to leave. I had plans to have dinner with my father at home, eager to share the day's events with him over a meal.

As I entered our home, I inquired about my father's whereabouts. He soon joined me, and Lucy served us a delightful dinner. We enjoyed a lively conversation, laughter filling the air as Lucy cracked her signature silly jokes. It was moments like these, surrounded by my father and Lucy, that I truly felt like a child again.

After dinner, I kissed my father goodnight and retreated to my room. I took a relaxing shower and changed into my comfortable nightwear before settling onto the bed.

I reached for a book—one of my favorite business-related reads that delved into the intricacies of growing a company, making crucial decisions, and achieving success. Immersing myself in the insightful pages, I felt my mind expand with newfound knowledge and inspiration.

The book in my hands held a special significance; my father had gifted it to me on my first day of college. It had been an invaluable resource throughout my academic journey, and I found myself turning to its wisdom once again.

Just as I was fully immersed in the pages, my phone began to buzz incessantly, disrupting my concentration. Irritated, I picked it up and furrowed my brows at the unfamiliar number displayed on the screen. Curiosity piqued, I wondered who could be reaching out to me at this hour before answering the call.

The enthusiastic voice on the other end of the line brought a smile to my face. "Hey, Bella girl! It's me, Phyna!" My old college friend's excitement was palpable. "I hope you haven't forgotten about me!"

My eyes widened, and a gasp escaped my lips. "Phyna? Thank goodness, I thought you wouldn't remember me!"

"Come on, girl! Of course, I remember you," I assured her, nostalgia washing over me. Her voice still held the same vibrancy I recalled from our college days.

"I'm back in town," Phyna revealed. "I hope we can meet up soon!"
Without hesitation, I agreed to reunite with my dear friend. Phyna had been a constant companion during our spare moments in college, a cherished roommate whose voice I had truly missed.

"Great! I'll see you tomorrow at your office," Phyna added, clearly aware of my professional achievements.
"Sure, girl. See you then," I replied, a mix of excitement and nerves bubbling within me.

As we exchanged goodbyes and ended the call, I placed my phone back on the bedside stand. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh, knowing that my packed schedule might make finding time to catch up with Phyna a challenge.

As I mulled over Mr. Bayang's request, I came to the conclusion that considering his proposal might not be such a bad idea. After all, to achieve greater success, one must often collaborate with others, exchange ideas, and work towards mutual profit. "Thank you, Dad's book," I murmured, grateful for the wisdom it had imparted.
