RAPTORMAN AND MELODY.
1776, APRIL 3rd,MONDAY 2:00 pm.
Raptorman stood near an empty gap in MoveCity's architecture. Nearby was Melody who was directing various robots to and fro as they established a perimeter.
"What's the word, bird?"
"Don't interrupt me," she grimaced. "Building an apartment complex. Need focus."
"Right. Sorry," he paused. "Mind if I watch."
She didn't respond other than to shoot him an annoyed glance. As a massive dirt square was being dug, a radio sitting on a nearby workbench blared.
"Hola everyone! Venny Adventura here with mi amor Rad Strider!" The voice shouted. "DeathTech forces continue to advance across the major countries of the world despite meeting resistance through unethical weapons. It seems flamethrowers and chemical agents aren't enough to protect non-create users from the flesh-warping monsters—"
Raptorman frowned, walked over to the radio, and turned it off.
"I was listening to that," Melody glared.
"Oh, sorry."
He hesitated for a moment before turning it back on.
"I'm not a fan of this war and prefer to stay out of it."
"Staying informed doesn't mean getting involved."
Prismatic energy gathered at the bottom of the dirt hole. A concrete slab was formed and steel beams began to rise out of it. The skeleton of a construction site began to appear as metal frame after metal frame was created.
"I guess that's true," he paused. "But it's frustrating to hear about all the innocent people that I can't help."
"You wouldn't risk leaving the Create continent?"
"I hate Cross, but I'm not an idiot," Raptorman said. "I can fight one, maybe two generals... But if all four came after me."
He left his words hanging in the air.
"You actually have some restraint. I can't believe my ears."
Wires and pipes formed around the metal frames. Prismatic energy became intricate details such as electrical boxes, kitchen sinks, refrigerators, and more. Every bolt, every measurement, every housing code was taken into consideration. Insulation, drywall, and bricks were the last thing to come as she finalized the project.
The whole thing took about thirty minutes. Melody's new apartment complex stood before the duo. A creation so complex that it was a remarkable feat of engineering.
Raptorman whistled. "No matter how many times I see it, I still can't get over your incredible ability to create."
"I know, I'm the best."
"I must admit, I'm jealous of your brilliant mind."
"Yes, praise me more."
He chuckled.
"I'm glad I chose you as my main architect of MoveCity. Seriously Melody, what you've done is insanely difficult. Normally it requires multiple professionals to craft over the course of a day," he said. "You did it alone in what, half an hour? You may very well be the smartest person of this generation."
Her smile froze; she looked away and straightened her hat. Raptorman perked an eyebrow.
"—Now an ad from our sponsors. Are you a Create user new to MoveCity? Then come to Mr. Musical's hotel!" Venny's voice shouted from the radio. "With the entire building made of the DriveMetal, it has stood intact for five whole years! If you're looking for a safe place to rest, then look no further than Mr. Musical Ho—"
Melody smashed the radio with a created sledgehammer; Raptorman raised both eyebrows.
"It's nothing," she spat. "Look I have more work to do. I'll see you later."
With that, she stomped off as Raptorman watched.
