The time for the girls to leave came. It broke everyone's heart that they had to go but they also understood the reason. Those three didn't belong in this timeline, they had their own lives some time from here. It was truly time to go.

But still, it left a big hole in their hearts.

Especially to Barry. He felt like this wasn't the right time. That they hadn't finished everything here. But he from all people couldn't say anything. Barry Allen was a speedster and it was part of his responsibility to make sure no one was messing with the timeline. He learned from his mistakes.

So why did he felt like they should stay? He couldn't be that selfish. He couldn't ask them to stay.

However, watching them go hurt him. And Iris was in no less better. She had cried before the day and Barry sat next to her whole night. The girls were leaving a void. They dropped bombs on them and now where moving without another thing.

Barry mentally punched himself and reminded that he shouldn't be too attached. He might lose his family in the future but that doesn't mean he has to act selfish.

He doesn't know what's going on with his future self. Why couldn't his and Iris' relationship survive the comeback of Eddie Thawne? Did Iris not love him enough? To stay with him?

And did he not love her enough? To fight for her?

Because as far as he was told, he had a wife in the future, someone who wasn't Iris.

Caitlin

He never imagined a future with her. It never once crossed his mind. He was abd probably is too occupied with Iris.

He always thought about Caitlin as a dear friend. Like Cisco, she was there when he woke up from that coma. She was there when Barry started the next stage of his life. A life of a superhero. She was there to fetch him up and save him when he needed.

Why didn't he ever notice that?

Iris. Because you love Iris. His mind told him. His heart somewhere agreed.

"Barry, they're waiting for us at S.T.A.R. Labs." Iris touched his shoulder and snapped him out of his thoughts. Barry held her hand and squeezed it with a sad smile. Iris gave him the equal smile and motioned him to get up. He didn't realize he was staring at the emptiness in the living-room.

"It's quiet here." Barry whispered while standing up. His wife nodded and put her head on his shoulder for a minute, then Barry grabbed her arm gently and sprinted to the infamous building.

Everyone was there. Cisco, Gipsy and Ralph were chatting with Selene, Nora was talking to papa Joe and mama Cecile while Caitlin was hugging Dawn.

"Daddy, you came right on time!" Dawn grinned but it didn't reach her eyes.

Barry smiled at his second daughter and walked up to her while Iris went to Nora.

They all had a big emotional goodbye and the girls got ready to run. Barry saw from the corner of his eye how Caitlin held her hands to her heart. He felt bad, the girls were leaving but Barry still had Iris, Caitlin had no one.

Before the girl could run, Caitlin quickly transformed into Frost and hugged all three of them. She stayed as Frost when the girls gave them another look. They nodded at each other and ran away as fast as they could. One purple and yellow lightning and two blue and yellow lightnings. Barry's heart clenched as he watched his girls leave. In a blink of an eye, they were gone.

Team Flash stood like that for few minutes. Then all of them got out of the pipeline and went to the cortex because there signal of the meta-attack rang. Barry left with Frost, Vibe and the Elongated Man to fight while the others remained in the building.

In the evening, when they finished up all the day work, Barry went to sit down in the lounge room and found Caitlin staring through the window.

"Thinking about them?" Barry asked her. Caitlin looked startled but nodded.

"I already miss them." She replied. "You?"

"Yeah, me too."

They fell into silence until Barry spoke again.

"Iris and I are going at Joe's to take our minds off from this. You can join, if you want." He looked at for response.

Caitlin bit her lip. "Are the rest of the team coming?"

Barry replied 'No.'

"Than I don't think it's a good idea."

"Why?" The Flash questioned with the confused expression.

"Barry, do you really think me coming with you guys is a good idea?" Caitlin looked at him as if he was dumb.

"Caitlin you're our friend, and Dawn and Selene were your children too."

"Exactly! I don't want to wonder in your relationships anymore than this. Whatever the future holds, I don't want to mess up the present more than it is now. Thanks for your offer, but I'll handle it on my own." She bit off and moved towards the exit.

"What's your problem?!" Barry asked, speeding in front of her.

Caitlin let out an impatient sigh. "Nothing, Barry."

"Doesn't seem like it. What's wrong?"

"I said it's nothing. I'm just upset about the girl's departure."

"So am I. Something other is bothering you."

"Damn it, Barry. I said it's nothing!" She raised her voice as Barry's look changed into a surprised one. She walked past him and hurried her steps, even if she knew she couldn't outrun him.

What's wrong with me? She wondered. She instantly felt bad as she drove her car far from the building.

Truth be told, she was feeling bitter.

Before Dawn came, she believed a life alone would be her future and she was used to it. But the girls made her open her eyes and see that there was a chance of hapiness for her.

Now she was confused. She doesn't love Barry and she doesn't want a future with him. But she also wants life. She's scared that she will do something wrong, Dawn and Selene won't be born and she will mess up everything.

What am I supposed to do? I almost lashed out at Barry who just wanted to help! I'm confused and it's making me mad! What am I doing?

"You're confused, Caity. That's all right. Keep your eyes on the rode and you can take a nap at home. It might help you calm down." Frost soothed. Caitlin sighed and did as Frost said. When she arrived at her apartment she collapsed on the couch and put her hands in her face.

"I think you should take control." She told Frost in her mind and slowly slipped away.
