Damage Case

"I didn't surprise you, did I?" With a smirk, stood Aerodite at the doorway with her minions. "YOU-" Felix lunged towards her but Changbin held him back just as he was about to transform. "Why did you stop him? I would've loved to see how he'd survive without water." Aerodite mocked earning a snarl from the vampire. "Don't let her get to you." Hyunjin warned eyes fixed on his 'aunt'. "Where is the rest of the school?" Chan enquired noticing just how many of those monsters accompanied her. "Don't you worry Mr President, they are all right and safe." She said her menacing smile growing wider. "In their stomachs." She pointed at the monsters which was when the boys noticed blood dripping from their mouths. "That's impossible. You're lying!" Han shouted as he held back tears. "Yeah! That can't be true. The teachers are incredibly powerful, you minions couldn't have possibly defeated them." Minho said with an unsettling calm expression which worried Chan. One wrong move and Minho would lose it. "Believe whatever you want to. I'm not here to have a conversation." She said dismissively. "After them." She ordered and before they could react numerous filthy monsters lunged towards them but they were saved by Jeongin's shield just in time. "Hurry, I can't hold them longer!" He uttered. His voice strained with all the power he was using. "Han! Back him up!" Seungmin shouted jerking Han out of his shock. In an instant, Han conjured vines that held onto the attackers' limbs who struggled to free themselves free. "We're running out of time." Felix said as he looked around at the possibilities for an escape plan.  "Break the window." Felix ordered. "Come again?" Changbin asked with confusion. "Break the window!" Felix bellowed. Changbin was taken aback by his behaviour but he compiled anyway. "Here goes nothing." Changbin said as he prepared to use his full force to break the window of the clinic. The windows were made of a special type of glass so as to not be broken easily considering the school welcomed vampires, werewolves and other aggressive species. Changbin gained speed, exited Jeongin's shield and stepped over a monster's head for a power-up. Focusing all of his power towards in fisted hand, he jammed it into the window. The loud sound stopped any movement in the room as everyone stared at the unbroken window. "It didn't work-" He was cut off mid-sentence when the entire wall came crumbling down and all that was left was the unbroken window. Everyone looked at him wide-eyed as Changbin let out an awkward chuckle. "Run!" Felix commanded as everyone made a run for it. "I told you the break the window, you did quite the opposite." Felix commented breathlessly as Changbin shrugged in response. "Hurry! Into the woods!" Minho pointed at the woods near his house. He knew every inch, every animal and every bird of the woods, which also included the safe house Dr Kim was talking about. 

"Did we outrun them?" Jeongin took support from the nearby tree catching his breath. "Yes. I think so." Han answered wiping sweat from his neck which Seungmin found annoyingly hot for no reason. "There's a river nearby. Let's take Felix there before we find ourselves with the headache of burying a dead body." Minho deadpanned as he got up from his spot and cracked his neck. His skin glowed like glitter and stars as the sun rays of the now-rising sun touched it. "Hyung, you're glowing." Jeongin pointed out, his mouth agape in amusement much to Hyunjin's despise. "Yes. I know." Minho shrugged like it wasn't the rarest thing to see. "I didn't know you shined like a tube light in the sun." Jeongin commented earning laughs despite the heavy atmosphere. "Had you not been so blind, you would've noticed that early. Goes on the prove just how much you pay attention to your surrounding." Minho rolled his eyes and started walking. "Are you guys not coming?" He snapped as everyone stuffed their laughs and followed him. "Here," Changbin said as he crouched down. "Get on my back, I'll carry you." He said to a pale-looking Felix, who didn't even have the energy to argue. With a weak smile, he got on Changbin's back. "You're awfully light." Changbin said with concern as he hurried behind Minho in a desperate attempt to reach the river as soon as possible. "There there, watch your step now." Minho warned as they neared the river. Felix already felt a little better with the increase in moisture in the air. 

After a few minutes, the trees gave way to a freshwater river. Felix jumped out of Changbin's back and straight into the river just before he converted into his real form. "Wow." Was all Changbin could say, mesmerised by Felix's blue and purple scales that shined in the fully exposed sunrays. "Close your mouth, will you?" Minho scoffed yet a faint smile could be seen on his face. "We don't have much time. Let's hurry and freshen ourselves up." Chan instructed as everyone got into the river and drank their first sip of liquid since last night. Changbin satisfied himself with the last blood bag he had left. Even if the forest gave them enough defence to spend generous time resting, they cannot stay put in the same place for too long. So, after an hour they reluctantly gathered themselves up and made their way towards the safe house. 

Once they settled themselves in the safe house and ate dinner, they sat in the living room to discuss their next move. "I can't believe she did that to Dr Kim!" Felix's enraged voice echoed in the room. "She had a problem with us, why involve someone else!" He grabbed his hair in frustration as Changbin kept his hand on Felix's thigh to calm him down. "Everyone at the school-"  Jeongin's voice cracked as a tear slipped his eye. "This is all because of me. Had I kept the letter to myself and never come to Minho's house none of this would've happened." Chan buried his head in his hands. "Then we would've been more defenceless. We're alive because we're together." Seungmin stated as everyone nodded in agreement. "So, what now?" Asked Han with uncertainty. "We go to the world of living." Declared Minho leaning again the doorframe of the living room. "What?!" Everyone exclaimed in unison. Disbelief, plastered on their faces as they waited for Minho to justify this declaration. "The longer we stay here, the longer we're gonna be putting everyone's life in danger. Did you not see what happened at the school?" He raised an eyebrow as sorrow dwelled on the group's faces. "You're right. We should leave here." Hyunjin whispered as he bit his lip in frustration. "What about our family? Our friends? We've lived here our whole lives. This is our home." Argued Han. "If we stay here longer, none of them would be left to live." Minho said making his way towards the younger. "Han, I know this is a tough decision but we can't put everybody else in danger." Minho spoke softly as Han closed his eyes and nodded his head in agreement. "Now that everybody's on board with the plan. Let's concur the world of the living." Hyunjin said getting up from his seat as he stretched himself. "How do you plan on going there?" Changbin asked as a smile tugged Minho's lips. "I will take you guys." He said with such confidence that no one doubted him for a second. "You know the drill, join your hands." He instructed. "With each other might I add." He added as everyone formed a circle connected with eachother's hands. "Will you be ok?" Asked Chan with concern.  "It's not the first time. You don't need to worry." Minho reassured just before a white light engulfed them whole.
