By the time Robb had arrived, he found the camp in an eery silence that had honestly disturbed him. The lords did not dare to speak. Their eyes were sunken and pressed to the ground, not wanting to meet their King's gaze. It was Lord Karstark who had noticed the blood on the ground, his eyes looking around.
"What happened? Can one of you bronze cunts tell me what has happened? Where is my queen?" he bellowed, searching for the eyes of the lords who had stepped away, motioning to Lord Reed, who fell to his knees.
Catelyn let out a horrified gasp as she examined the ground. It had a small pool of dried blood. Her eyes widened, but it was Robb who surged forward, urging his men to look for Cassana. His breath faltered, and his chest almost ceased its motion.
"My king, something happened yesterday. Our queen, she was injured, but—", Lord Bolton started, his gaze also pointed to the floor.
He wasn't proud of his actions. He might be working with the Lannisters, but it was the pregnant queen who risked her life to save what was his to guard. In return, they had shed the blood of an admirable woman. Robb Stark did not even let the lord finish when his eyes balled with all the fury of the North.
"Where is she, where is my wife, Lord Bolton?", his tone like deadly silk. Lord Reed gulped as he was brought forward, whimpering as Grey Wind growled.
"It was I, your grace. I cannot fathom what I have done. She was merciful with me, gave me my life despite disregarding her commands", he tried, but the King had a cruel facade.
The North suddenly grew colder. Never had the lords seen such fury in the young wolf's eyes. They promised death to whoever touched his beloved wife, similar to what they had seen with Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark.
"Put him in irons. If I see a hair out of the Queen's head, I will be coming for your head. She is merciful, but I am not as forgiving. I beseeched you to obey your queen, this is no Northern loyalty", he sneered, as Lord Karstark pushed the man, his cheek touching the ground as he whimpered and clamored for mercy.
It was true. The Queen had not been seen in their camps. She had gone to the Stormland's and Velaryon garrison. It was Ser Royce who walked into the clearing, his eyes darkened when they saw Lord Reed.
"Your grace, there was an incident last evening with the Queen and Lord Reed. If I may explain, he disobeyed direct orders. The Lannister children were not to be harmed. When Lord Velaryon himself was moving then to a pen set up in the Storm camps, he created an unwarranted mutiny, killing one of the kids. Lord Velaryon was ready to give his life to follow her grace's land commands, but it was all too fast. She threw herself in front of him and protected him. When we apprehended Lord Reed, he had already sliced her arm. It has been taken care of, Lady Mormont and Lady Karstark are taking care of her as we speak", he said, his voice low.
It was Lord Karstark the first one to react. He screamed in anger and delivered a punch to Lord Reed.
"I fucking told you this was not the way. I told you to behave yourself, yet you court chaos. You hurt our queen. You are no Northerner in my eyes", he said.
Robb paled, and his mother gasped. Catelyn had sent the man on the floor the last glare before looking for her good daughter. Robb shook with anger, his eyes blazing with Tully fire.
"I will deal with you later, Lord Reed. Know that my wife has been too kind on your punishment. You drew blood. And not only the Lannisters she commanded you not to touch, but hers. Lord Karstark, take the kid slayer to a pen. Put him in irons and wait for my commands, I must first check the Queen's health"
It was Lord Cerywn who then interjected, "my king, if we would have known about his actions, we would have never let him hurt the Queen. She was here yesterday, and we admire her beauty, kindness, and most of all her bravery and fierceness. It is not every day a lass like that wields a legendary sword. I know she resents us Northerners right now, she has made that clear when she moved her chambers to her banner men's camp. We want to apologize on our behalf and regain her trust", he said gently, remembering the actions of a queen.
