Aidan stares at hisbrothers for a full two minutes before his wife's voice brings himback to himself.
"Dear, who's at thedoor?" Kiera asks.
Aidan looks back at Kiera."Some people that shouldn't be here."
Kiera sets their son down."Well, don't just stand there. Invite them in."
Aidan sighs, trying tokeep his anger in check. He didn't want to yell in front of theirson. He steps away from the doorway and motions for Diego and Lutherto come inside. "Come on in."
Diego and Luther walk inon high alert as though they were afraid that someone was going topop out and shoot them in cold blood.
Kiera walks up to them."Hi. I'm Kiera Roberts. Aidan's wife. It's nice to meet you."
Diego and Luther glance atAidan, who subtly shakes his head for them to keep quiet beforeshaking Kiera's hand.
Kiera gestures for them tofollow her. "Won't you come join us for dinner? I made extra. Aidanlet me know we might have company tonight."
Diego and Luther glance atAidan again before following his wife into their dining room off thekitchen. Aidan grabs his son and joins them. They all sit down at thetable where Kiera serves them steak and mixed vegetables. She servestheir son macaroni and cheese with vegetables.
"So, how do you know myhusband?" Kiera asks once everyone is served.
Luther glances nervouslyat Aidan before answering. "Uh, he's our brother."
"Oh, that's right."Kiera responds calmly. She looks at Aidan. "I remember you tellingme you had family in the city but weren't close anymore."
"Yes." Aidan says,hoping they won't blow his cover in front of his son.
"Man, why the fuck isyour wife calling you Aidan?" Diego bluntly asks.
Aidan sighs. Damn it. Somuch for that.
Their son sits up in hischair. "You gotsta give mommy a dollar!"
"Why?" Luther asks,confused.
"Because that's whatMommy does when Daddy says a bad word." He says, trying to act allgrown up which puts a smile on Aidan's face.
Aidan takes a sip from hiswater glass. "You heard the boy."
"You didn't answer myquestion." Diego asks instead.
"Why don't we eat first?And then Aidan here can answer all the questions you have after."Kiera answers, sending Diego a cold look that actually startles him.
His eyes go wide for asecond before he gathers himself, puts his serious mask back on, andstarts eating the food that is on his plate.
