Relaxing afternoon

Three of you was walking together until you saw a park. And since it was Saturday, The Maine park is usually quite cheerful and relaxed. There were some children building sand castles and playing on the swing, some old people walking their dogs, and a few more laughing and talking together. Her little brother went running off to play on the playground and have fun with other children his own age. Apparently he already knew some of them and had already established friendships. You and Carrie smiled at this, so you and your friend went to sit on a bench, which was close to this playground.

You had your closed eyes, feeling the refreshing wind flying over your hair - Carrie also decided to relax but she laid on your shoulder and gave a nap, you noticed then and smiled, caressing gently to wake her "Aww are you tired?" Carrie open her eyes but kept smiling happily. She yawned.

"No, Y/N. It's just that it's so chill today that I almost slept." She was still reaching herself to be more awake "and because my friend's so warm and so soft that I love to sleep over - I could sleep like a baby for hours." You laughed while Carrie watched, admiring your contagious and catchy happiness. "Sometimes I think you confused me to a pillow.".

"Having a friend so warm like you, how could no?" You heard that but Carrie blushed and looked down, using her hair to cover her red face. "Poor little angel.." And you uncover a bit of her face and answer her with a low but soft voice tone "Remember, don't need to be ashamed. Okay?" and you caressed her cheek, making Carrie to smile for feel so loved by someone. Loved and well cared. And the best thing is being accepted even knowing the truth. Sometimes, Carrie had thoughts what if didn't you accept her after she showed her powers. She knew you wouldn't be so mean enough to bully her like others but it would still break her heart since like Miss Collins, you're one of the people she most trust to tell and express everything what she thinks or feels. Neither Miss Collins have knowledge about her powers. But this no reason to feel worried about anymore since you accepted her by the way how is she.

"Carrie, can I ask you something? It's okay if you don't want to." Carrie positioned to listen everything you have to say "No problem. I'm listening to you.".

"Alright. What about your mother? Since in the morning, I noticed you was like so happy than usual - Did it happen something in special? Don't get me wrong, I'm genuine happy that you feel better now but I'm still curious about the why." Carrie nodded.

"Well, yesterday I took a conversation with my momma about the prom. She didn't let me as I hoped, but I didn't give up and kept going even her tries to make me nervous, but I wasn't afraid. So, I told her that I'll go and she couldn't stop me." You've been surprised to her attitudes but you let her to finish before comment anything. "Since then, she never changed any word to me. Even today, I couldn't listen her saying "Good morning." and when I hugged her, she like - ignored me." her last sentence break you in particular, since Carrie still shows to love her even knowing how terrible is Margaret. But in respect to her, you didn't say anything against. Your wish to protect her and never let her go away from you got more higher than "bathroom incident". When she finished, you smiled to her "Carrie, do you know my opinion? You're the most brave girl that I know. And I really admire you for that. I wouldn't even be so courageous enough to duel your mother." Carrie disagreed "What are you talking to? You were the only who protected me when those girls laughed and threw things on me - how couldn't you be also?". You didn't say anything anymore but gave her a smile in your face. "But yet, I respect and really admire you. I feel happy about your victory. Congratulations, Carrie!". She smiled and thanked you for such support and for show empathy about her happiness.
