CARL
I was finally being released from jail after who knows how long. I hadn't kept up with how long I had been locked away for. Luckily, my return would be a birthday gift for Ian, who I couldn't believe was turning 25.

IAN
My birthday was going to be like any other year. My birthday never changed. Someone would die, some illegal situation would occur, forcing the entire family to band together to solve it. One of us would get arrested and then released. And at the end of the day, a cheap birthday cake would be bought so that we could finally celebrate my birthday.

The only differences this year were that Debbie was almost 2 months pregnant with mine and Mickey's child, Carl was locked up and Fiona had moved away.

I woke up to the sound of Lip, Mickey, Debbie and Liam singing to me.

"Happy birthday to Ian. Happy birthday to you!" They all sang, Mickey trying not to look happy as he handed me the large birthday cake.

"Wow. Thank you!" I smiled, cutting into it.

"How's the baby doing?" I asked as Debbie smiled.

"Not today Ian. Today is all about you turning 25. We haven't properly celebrated a Gallagher birthday, let alone your birthday in years." Debbie smiled, handing me a box.

I opened it to see a white t-shirt with the words Superior Father written on it.

"Wow, Debbie. Nice." I laughed, Mickey handing me a gift.

When I opened it, my heart dropped. It was a picture of Mickey and I at our wedding. We were kissing as everyone was cheering in the background.

"I- This is beautiful, Mick." I kissed him.

"Can you believe that this is your first birthday being married?" Liam asked, surprised.

"Yes. Yes I can." I kissed Mickey again.

"Oi! Gallagher family!" We all heard a voice downstairs. Getting up, we all ran downstairs to see Carl and Fiona standing in the living-room, a smile on their faces.

"Carl! Fiona!" We all smiled, hugging them.

"Happy birthday, Ian." Fiona hugged me before giving me a gift.

"Happy birthday, bro." Carl smiled.

"There's some more gifts out in my car. I'll go and get them." Fiona smiled.

"I'll help." Debbie happily offered, following Fiona outside.

"So, you released for the day?" I asked, looking at Carl.

"Nope. I'm out for good, as long as I don't do any stupid shit." Carl laughed.

"That's great, Carl. Welcome home." I hugged him again, Mickey going into the kitchen to get a beer for us.

"Is it just me, or have Fiona and Debbie been gone for a little too long?" Mickey asked, worried.

We all ran outside to see one of Terry's friends holding Debbie at gunpoint while Fiona tried to calm down the situation. Terry was in crutches, still recovering from the shot to the leg.

"Fuckin' hell!" Mickey ran back inside and grabbed a gun or two.

"Let her go, Terry! You don't hate her. You hate me and Mickey." I demanded, Terry smirking.

"I do fuckin' hate her! She's supporting you and my faggot son. She's allowing you to have a family!" Terry hissed.

"How did you-" Mickey rolled his eyes, pissed off.

"Some of my friends saw you and little miss Gallagher here walking into a doctors clinic a few months ago." Terry laughed.

Freaking me out more, he demanded his friend to point the gun at Debbie's stomach.

"Shit. Mickey, what do we do?" I looked at Mickey, who noticed someone behind Terry and his friend.

"Boo." Lip yelled, using the bat to knock Terry's friend to his knees, while Carl just punched Terry twice.

Debbie nearly fell to the floor, but I managed to catch her in time, as Mickey threatened to kill Terry. Without warning, Mickey lifted his arm and raised the gun in the air, cocking it so it was ready to fire. We all ran away from Mickey and Terry, who looked shocked. Mickey fired the gun moving away from Terry, who wouldn't move fast enough. We watched in horror, but relief as the bullet landed in the bottom of Terry's neck, causing him to fall to the floor. His friend called 911, but we all headed inside, trying to forget about what had just happened.

"Can we properly celebrate Ian's birthday now?" Debbie asked, trying not to seem shaken up.

"Yes." Fiona smiled as Debbie brought the cake downstairs.

For the next couple of hours, we all ate a lot of cake. Both Fiona and Lip got drunk, Carl was trying to avoid getting drunk, Debbie drank at least 3 glasses of water, Liam just talked to Mickey about possible baby names and I enjoyed opening other presents as Fiona and Lip couldn't stop laughing.

"Are you two alright?" I looked at Lip and Fiona.

"We're fine! We're just trying not to piss ourselves." Fiona fell on the floor after laughing too hard.

Even though the day hadn't been very good, the rest of the time that we spent enjoying my birthday was fun. I definitely hadn't expected today to end up like it did.
