"Holy shit"
It was her. The real Hailee fucking Steinfeld was talking to me. I didn't know what to do right now. My eyes travelled over every inch of her face.
"Raven?" Her voice broke me out of my thoughts
"Are you ok?" She asked laughing a bit.
"Oh yeah, yeah I'm perfectly fine. It's not like I've been texting with my celebrity crush or anything" I laughed nervously. As soon as I realized what came out of my mouth I put my head in my hands.
"Oh god Hailee I am so sorry. I understand if you want to stop talking to me now" I mumbled through my hands.
"What? No! You are handling this better than most would I'm sure. I enjoy talking to you Raven." She said smiling.
I removed my hands from my face and smiled back at her. Hailee's smile was the brightest smile in the whole world. It's truly adorable.
"You're staring again Raven" she smirked.
"Oh-" I blushed
"Sorry" I looked away.
"It's fine I was just playing with you!" She said laughing.
"So you said you're a teacher right?" I nodded
"Why are you off so early? Half day? No one show up?" She giggled.
"No, a student was kind of harsh today so I called in a sub" I gave Hailee a half smile and she frowned.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"While I was texting you in class a few kids decided to pick a joke with me. Which was completely fine because it was harmless. They just asked if I was talking to a new girlfriend" I paused, Hailee was paying close attention.
"A few minutes later, my last student walked in. The bell rang. I -being a wonderful teacher- give my students time to take their things out and get ready for the class." Hailee laughed as I continued.
"I kept texting you. I hadn't noticed that a kid had their hand up. I had soon glanced up and saw the hand. Then the kid who had their hand up started asking who the new boyfriend was, everyone in class snickered a bit cause they all know I'm a huge lesbian. So I went on and told him that and well....it didn't end so well." I finished looking anywhere but at her.
"Oh Jesus Raven that sucks. No one deserves to go through that" Hailee said. I just nodded my head and kept my eyes on the blank piece of paper in front of me. It looked very interesting.
"Raven look at me." I sighed and looked at her.
"Are you ok?" I nodded with a smile that more fake then the dreams I have.
"Don't lie. What's wrong?" Hailee said.
"Just tired that's all" I smiled again but this time it was more genuine. I mean it was true. I am tired. I haven't been sleeping great. But what I'm really tired of is jerks thinking they can get away with anything.
Time Skip
It's been at least five hours since me and Hailee were on the phone talking. I could look at her all day if I had the chance. From the way her eyes glow when she talks about her music or family to her nose that she scratches when she hears something silly or strange.
I didn't want to stop looking at her. But I knew that being a responsible adult meant I had to go to bed soon.
"Hey Raven it's getting pretty late. My dad wants to come over for our daily 'Father-Daughter Workout' so I gotta go." Hailee said. It's like she read my mind.
"Oh of course! Don't want to keep you from family bonding." I said smiling at her.
"I hope you have a better day at work tomorrow. I'll make sure to text you when I'm up yeah?" The smile grew bigger as I nodded. This is the girl of my dreams oh lord. I might pass-
"Earth to Raven?" I heard Hailee'd voice say, knocking me out of my thoughts.
"Oh sorry, I spaced out. What did you say?" Hailee laughed and shook her head.
"I said goodnight" her smile was brighter then the sun and the stars combined.
"Good night Steinfeld" I smirked back at her.
We both hung up. I got up from my desk and went to my bed. Talking to her was amazing. I can't believe I was talking to the real Hailee Steinfeld though. I love her smile more than anything.
I felt tired and closed my eyes letting sleep take over my body. I went to sleep with only one thing on my mind. Hailee. The girl of my dreams.
