Sorry the last one was so short, and I've been extremely busy with lots of band stuffs and getting grades back to normal. Enjoy the story:
Gerard had gotten all the forms filled out, and when he turned around, I was out. I crashed on the couch, sleeping in the weirdest position. Apparently I sleep with one arm behind my back, (that's what he told me when I woke up.) and he had to stop me from rolling onto my broken bones.
"Jess, wake up." he nudged me, and as usual, I tried to swat the annoying alarm away. I ended up pushing at his face, which he found extremely amusing.
"Whaaaaaaat....." I groaned as I searched for the button to make him go away.
"They're gonna call you back there soon." he had stepped away so I wasn't pushing at his face anymore. His face was squishy, and I wasn't finding a mute or snooze button.
"Call me back where?"
"You're still at the hospital, sleepy." he poked my side, immediately finding my ticklish spot. Must've been amusing when I squealed and shot up, because he started assaulting my sides with several more pokes.
"I'm up! I'm up!" I cried out, "please! I'm up!" to which he respectfully backed off, obviously not wanting to injure me further.
"Jessica?" a nurse in pink called out from by the door."Looks like you're up..." Gerard said, helping from the couch and to the back.
All I remember before blacking out was being hauled off on a bed-like stretcher to a room where they put a weird, clear mask over my face. "Close your eyes and count backwards from eighty." a male voice instructed.
I did as told, counting down quick at first. "Eighty, seventy-nine, seventy-eight, seventy-seven, seventy-six, seventy-five, seventy-four, seventy-three, seventy-two, seventy-one, seventy, sixty-nine, sixty-eight," suddenly my head felt fuzzy and funny, and I soon started to slow down and slur my speech. "Six'y-se..en,... sixssssy-sixs,... sixssy-ffive,... Sixssy-four,...... three, sixtwo, fiffff...." soon I only felt darkness embrace me like a long lost friend. Everything was black, and my brain had shut down.
_________________________________________I woke up feeling just as odd, mostly numb in my hand and completely..... fuzzy? Yeah, fuzzy.
"What'd I miss?" It even felt weird to talk.
"You were in surgery for forty minutes, and you've been out for twenty." came a sleepy voice from the side of the... hotel room? "Why are we in a hotel room?"
He looked at me with surprise and suddenly couldn't help but laugh lightly. What? Did I say something funny? I'm in a nightgown, and we're in a hotel.
"You're in a hospital room, Jess." he said through his light laughter.
"No.... We're in a hotel room." I insisted.
He stepped around the bed, "It must he the pain killer they've given you." he chuckled, sitting across from me.
"Moophine?" I slurred without realizing.
That seemed to get him and he lost it, dying of intense laughter. I didn't get what was so funny, but his laughter was light and fluffy and it made me smile. "What?"
"You..." he tried to catch his breath, "you should just rest, Jess."
"In the hotel room? My parents are expecting me..." Wow was he not thinking.
" they know you're here, and I'll bring you home when it's time." He had finally calmed down from his laughing fit, running a hand through his hair.
" they know I'm at a hotel?" This still didn't make much sense. My parents are too strict to let me hang out with a priest at a hotel. That in itself sounds weird... And wrong... "Why thafuck are we in a hotel room anyway?"Gerard gave me a look that was between a scolding scowl and a sassy eye roll. "Language... And I told you before. You're in a hospital. You just had surgery."
"Mhm...." that's all I remember until I wake up in the passenger seat of Gerard's car."Good morning, sleepy." the priest smiled as he glanced over at me. "We're almost there."
"Where?" I looked around at the surroundings. We were at a stoplight, surrounded by forest preserve.
"I'm taking you home, dear." he seemed to know where to go.
"What happened?" I can't myself ask, though I didn't feel like I was myself. I was groggy, cranky, exhausted, and disoriented.
"Well, you went into surgery, slept for twenty minutes, then insisted we were in a hotel once you awoke. You fell back asleep and there nurse helped you into my car so we could all go home." he summed up the remainder of the night so quickly."My parents are gonna be so mad at me." I sighed
"Why? You didn't even start anything... They just attacked you." he replied quietly.
I could only laugh quietly, he doesn't get it. My parents don't care that I was bullied. They don't care if I had started the fight or never faught back. "They don't care. I cost them medical expenses.""No. The school took care of it. They won't be mad." he yawned, pulling in the driveway.
As I turned to face him, I looked into his eyes. He looked hauntingly beautiful, though that wasn't what caught my attention. His eyes were sunken in and the circles under his eyes showed that he had been up for over 24 hours. I had never seen someone so exhausted in my life, and it was all for me. "I'm sorry, Gerard." I apologized, "I didn't mean to keep you up this late."
"It's fine, Jess. It's my job to ensure your safety." he said with a crooked, lazy smile. "And besides, it's Saturday. I can sleep in."
"Are you sure?"All I got was him getting out of the car to help me inside.
