To be Loved by You

The universe decided I was meant to love you,
But you made sure I may feel love for very few.
They wrote it so that atleast you love me too,
And you said you do but somehow it never felt true.
Life started like in fairytale castles I dwelt,
Alas, you weren't a white knight it always felt.
I was warned that not all that glitters is gold,
And as I grew my castle turned into a prison hold.
That sparkly bracelets you once had me wear,
Their shine have washed off to be chains I now fear.
Those pretty dresses you brought me everyday,
They now constrict me from getting away.
Your words that once promised to forever protect,
You turned them into a poison gravely potent.
And yet the universe had left me in your care,
They said Fates gave you me to be a blessing to bear.
But you convinced me to be a burden you share,
When you smiled at my tears, thought me unaware.
I am bitter now that all you showed me was the dark,
All I feel now is pity for myself to be deceived by your spark.
But still, was it too much to want to be loved by you?
Isn't that what all fathers are supposed to do?
