Lately, I've been thinking about Ada more. She's been on my mind often. I actually miss her even though it's been a few days since I last saw her. We're texting each other, but I'd like to see her in person again. We are trying to plan another meet up soon. A "second date" to call it.

Our schedules on the other hand aren't working as well. Our work seems to be getting busier, preventing us from seeing each other. It's even preventing us from sending messages and calling sometimes. Well, I am assuming it is because of our work because that's my reason. I sure hope that's the same case for her.

Thinking about this too much is causing me to be a bit stressed. I should think of something else for the time being. Something to keep me busy. I searched around my house for anything special. Opened some cabinets, checked my drawers, and opened and closed the fridge a few times. Okay, this is boring. I'll just go to the store for the sake of appearing busy. I am lacking in some food anyway.

I headed over to the store and saw a poster plastered on the window yelling about some sale. Some things were 15-25% off. Wonder what the occasion is. Then an idea came into mind. A movie night. A movie night with Ada. She can come over to my place. It'll just be us two, together, alone. We'll have a fun time. Just have to get a good day for this.

Feeling eager, I headed over to the snack aisle. I wonder what she would be okay with. Some casual everyday snacks ? Something fancy ? I'm actually quite not sure. Guess I was too lost in thought as I bumped into someone. I snapped back to reality to apologize, but I soon realized who it was. Chris Redfield. Oh, boy...

I say, "Oh, uh, hey, sorry about that." I gave an awkward smile.

He stayed silent for a moment, making me sweat nervously. Then he finally said, "It's alright."

Great. He's alright with that. I shouldn't make this more awkward. Start some small talk.

"Cool, cool. Buying something special ?"

"Not really. Claire asked me to buy some things. Just a run for her."

I hummed silently. "I see you're being a great older brother."
"Hm. Thanks," he said, not looking at me. More focused on the bag he had in his hand.

So far so good. This feels easy for once. We have no problem currently. This is new.

Chris then said, "How about you. Running some sort of errand ?" His head turned towards me.

I nod. "Buying snacks for a movie night."
"A movie night with yourself ?"

"No, with a...friend."

"Sounds intriguing."

We went quiet for a while. For a second I thought our conversation was over as the silence grew longer. But then he spoke again.

"Hey, listen. I suppose I should apologize for...how I treated you. I just want what's good for my sister. I shouldn't try to control who is attracted to who."

I was surprised. I say, "Oh. It's fine ! I get it. When you care for someone so much, you get blinded by your own worries."

"Well, thanks for accepting my apology," said Chris calmly.

"People change," I said. I then smiled.

"Hm. See you later then."

"Cya."

Then he walked off.

I stayed in place, still slightly surprised. That went smoothly. Glad that he seems to now leave me alone. For now, I should go get what I'm here for.

I did it. I invited Ada over to my place tonight. Luckily, she agreed to come over. Finally we have time for each other. I tidied up the place even though it was very clean already. I took a long shower, taking extra time to fully clean myself and my hair. Wore something nice, too. I have a nice scent. Surely I'm not overthinking this. Unless I am too nervous. I shouldn't be nervous though. We both get along fine. She's a good friend. Everything will be fine. It's all fine.
