Oh February. I am kind of glad to see you again. This cold weather is getting annoying now and I want it to end already. Spring should be coming in soon. I am ready for the warm weather to come in again.

My good pal, Luis, finally came back from Spain. He told me how great it was to see his family again. Even told me some stories of what they did. He invited me over to his place for us to hang out again. At his place, we decided to play the 64 while we chatted. Feels good to see him again in person.

We were playing Super Smash Bros 64. The game is fun to play. I was playing as a character named Fox and my friend was playing as Samus. I did hear they made a sequel to the game. I think it was called Melee ? Pretty sure it had much more characters instead of eight. Sadly, I do not know how to play that game. The controls are a bit difficult for me to figure out.

Apparently I'm bad at this game since Luis won't stop kicking my ass. He still has two stocks left and I only have one. Plus, my percentage is near 100. It'd be a miracle if I somehow survive this. Doing my best to not get defeated, I stood near the edge and started spamming the blaster. It had long range and was able to do some sort of damage to my opponent. My friend told me to be a man and fight him properly. I refused. Suddenly my character got hit by the charge shot and got KOed.

The results screen showed up, showing me how bad I am at this game. I barely did any damage to my opponent. I kind of sank down onto the floor, feeling bummed out. Luis chuckled and patted my back like that would make me feel much better. He asked if I'd like a rematch. Obviously I accepted the rematch.

When the match started, my friend decided to ask how the new year was for me. Well a lot happened. I told him how it went for me. I went to a party, got sick, and met a woman. Actually thinking about it, that wasn't much. Apparently he was more interested in the part that I met somebody. Even though I was focused on the screen, I bet he had a smug look on his face.

"You met someone ?" he said, probably grinning. I could hear the smugness in his voice. "How'd it go ? You asked them out ?"

"She rejected me," I say directly.

"Really ? Thought you were good with the ladies. Did she tell you why she rejected you ?"

"She did. Apparently she liked someone else..."

I managed to get rid of one of his stocks. Two left.

"Oh." He smashed the buttons to get equal. It was a loud click. "Found out who the fella was that she liked ?"

I shook my head. "No. Maybe I'll figure out who it is. We stayed friends, so there is a chance that one day she'll tell me about who that guy is. It's probably one of her friends that I never met. Besides, we work at the same job. She has a lot of friends there. There's a chance I walked by this guy multiple times without realizing it."

I lost a stock. Now we're equal.

"Huh. Workforce love triangle then ?" Luis questions.

I felt like giggling at that statement. I explain, "Not really. I'm not in love with her. I just decided to ask her out and see how it goes from there. I even got the outcome: we're just friends."

"Ah well, at least you got yourself out there."

A large GAME came across the screen. I had lost once again. Both of us had one stock left. I would have won if I hadn't stepped on a bomb. I kind of deflated and sunk to the ground again. He chuckled softly which made me frown slightly.

We continued playing until we got bored and decided to do something else. He went to search in a box full of games that the two of us could play. As he did that, I hopped onto my phone. I swiped through the many pictures that came across my homepage. Everyone is still having fun except me. At least I have a few friends that I can talk to and hang out with.
