As soon as they stepped out of the building Donghyuck collapsed on the floor, breaking down into broken sobs as he clung to Renjun's legs. It hurt so damn bad all over again, a helpless, hopeless loss. Renjun silently knelt down beside him, looking up at where he hoped Mark was as he engulfed the younger boy in his arms.
"Hon, fuck, I hope I'm actually looking at you," Renjun muttered. Mark laughed to himself, though the worry was noticeable in his voice. He landed down in front of Renjun so that he was looking at him. "I know this is probably not what you want, but we need to find a way to gain you some closure so you can move on. And fast."
Mark sighed, biting his lip as he nodded. Donghyuck coughed as he choked on his tears, leaning his weight into Renjun as he exhausted himself. He curled himself around Renjun's waist. Renjun looked back at Mark. "Look at him. You being here still is just going to make him worse."

Mark bit his lip, "So what do we do?"
With a croaky voice Donghyuck relayed the message to Renjun. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, "you were shot yeah?" Donghyuck nodded slowly, unconsciously curling into Renjun even further. Renjun snapped his fingers before tightening his hold around the broken boy. "Maybe we really do need to find the person who did it."
The young spirit folded his arms in front of his chest, "sounds legit, but like I don't even remember who it was."
After Donghyuck interpreted to Renjun, he frowned. "And I don't know either," he added, hiccuping through his words.
"Maybe I can help find connections," Renjun suggested, "We'll sneak into your dad's office and snoop around. I'm sure if we bring Jaemin, his skills will be handy."
As Donghyuck nodded, Mark chuckled, "yeah, the weirdo." He smiled to himself, "I miss him."
Donghyuck sighed, nodding again in response to Mark with dead droopy eyes.

Before Renjun could speak on, the side door burst open once again. Renjun and Donghyuck turned around to see the rest of the guys staring back at them in concern, Jeno and Chenle tilting their heads toward the two. Jaemin pulled Jeno around to the other side of the two so Donghyuck and Renjun wouldn't be twisting their bodies, Jisung and Chenle shuffling behind them.
"Hyuck, baby bear, are you okay? Do you need some water or something?" Jaemin asked in a slight panic looking at the state of the boy. Donghyuck simply looked up, shaking his head a little as he began to laugh. The rest of the boys looked at him, Jeno furrowing his brows as Jisung looked at him like he was mentally insane. But Donghyuck just couldn't help it. It wasn't his fault Jaemin kept going through Mark unexpectedly.

Mark moved his head to Jaemin's side, glaring at the boy. "What the fuck is your problem, dammit?!"
"How is he supposed to know, huh?" Donghyuck sniffled, wiping away his tears.
Renjun glanced over at him, laughing a little, "what happened this time?"
"Jaemin has this knack of sliding through Mark," Donghyuck explained, laughing a bit through his words as he hiccuped. Renjun cupped the boy's face as Donghyuck was still shaking. "He did it in the cafeteria as well."
Renjun nodded as his jaw dropped slightly, "ohh, so that's what you were mumbling about."

Donghyuck nodded as the rest of the guys looked back at him in confusion. Donghyuck and Renjun looked back at one another before bursting into laughter amongst themselves. The younger of the two looked back toward the guys, watching Mark step back and embrace Jaemin from behind with a content smile.
Jaemin shivered all of a sudden, "I feel weird."
"That's cause you are weird," Donghyuck snorted, letting his head fall on Renjun's shoulder.
"Careful, Hyuck," Mark clicked his tongue, "or else Jaemin will make you join me."
Donghyuck let his face fall, grabbing a small pebble from beside him and hurling it at Mark, past Jaemin's shoulder. "Stop making jokes about this."
"Okay Mark, if you're making jokes on your own death again, I swear, man," Renjun snapped his fingers at the apparition. Donghyuck just assumed he saw where the pebble was aimed at.
Donghyuck sighed dramatically, gesturing widely with arms. "At your own damn funeral, no less."
"Look if I'm dead, what the hell did you expect?" Mark snapped back at him.

"...Is no one else concerned about what the fuck is happening?" Jisung broke into their seemingly broken conversation.
Chenle shook his head as he shrugged, "I'm assuming Mark hyung is still stuck here and he can't move on just yet so he's loitering somewhere." He glanced over to his other hyungs, "I think he's hugging Jaemin hyung or something and that's why he felt weird." He whipped back around to his boyfriend with a grin. "That's probably why Donghyuck hyung asked about spirits being stuck on this plane and stuff. He's the only one who can see him."
The rest of the guys went silent, eyes wide at the young boy who seemed completely unfazed by what had just left his mouth. Chenle looked back around at all his friends, chuckling a bit at their awestruck faces before looking back down and picking his nails.
Jeno blinked at him for a moment, eyeing him up and down. "Aight damn, Sherlock."

Donghyuck chuckled to himself as the guys naturally accepted how Mark was still around, noticing the small smile creeping on his face. Significantly easier than convincing Renjun but a skeptic was always harder to convince. He remembered the problem Jeno had as a child and Chenle's family being quite superstitious, so it was no surprise that they found it to be no problem whatsoever.

"Wait, so Mark hyung's hugging me?" Jaemin suddenly snapped back to Donghyuck with wide bright eyes. Mark, who had actually released a little while ago when the pebble was thrown, immediately jumped back onto Jaemin, hugging him tightly. He had gotten a lot better at understanding the pressure he needed to put and how to touch things within the physical world. He couldn't move anything, but a little progress was better than none.
Donghyuck smiled up at him, nodding as Mark giggled to himself. Jaemin smiled even brighter, tapping where he thought Mark was, which he was luckily right about, gently patting the boy's arm. "Hi hyung."
"Hi Nana," Mark nuzzled Jaemin's shoulder, a pang going through Donghyuck's chest yet he nevertheless smiled brightly and relayed the message.
Jaemin chuckled quietly, trusting the weird feeling and tilting his head to rest on Mark's, tears welling in his eyes.

They all felt it, the gap left now that Mark was gone. Donghyuck knew that they felt just a little incomplete without him, and the funeral had really set it in. Mark was gone. He had seen Jisung quietly sink into his chair as the service had gone on, how Jeno seemed to try and keep his mind occupied with something else, how Renjun had held tightly not just for him but for himself. They all could feel it.

They all had lost a friend.

"Nana, hyung's telling you to please stop crying," Donghyuck chuckled, his own eyes welling with tears again as he watched Mark frantically trying to stop Jaemin from crying. Jaemin chuckled a bit, wiping away some of his stray tears with a small nod. As he automatically gravitated toward Jeno, the boy already ready to catch him, Mark sighed in relief. He looked back at Donghyuck before laughing a bit.
"You should stop crying too," Mark smiled, casually walking over to Donghyuck. He crouched down, reaching up and cupping Donghyuck's face. The younger boy looked back into warm familiar eyes, sighing calmly to himself as he nuzzled slightly into Mark's hand. The elder boy smiled sweetly at him, Donghyuck's heart doing flips as it always did with him around.

Renjun snorted, "Oh yeah, Mark's definitely still around."
"Oh I know right," Jisung agreed, hiccuping a bit as he added his little comment.
Jeno chuckled, nuzzling into Jaemin's side. "Donghyuckie doesn't just look at anything or anyone like that." Jaemin laughed slightly along with Chenle as he nodded in agreement.
Donghyuck grumbled to himself, aggressively flopping his head back on Renjun's shoulder, the elder boy wincing as he laughed with the others.
Mark laughed himself, glancing back at Jeno as his lips curled upwards into a flustered smile, his ghost-like form pulsing slightly before he glanced back at Donghyuck. With that, he carefully took the boy's hand into his own, holding on for as long as he could.
