"Koa!" Daryl shot right past her head with his bow as a walker fell dead behind her.

"Thanks"

"I tried to get some extra squirrel for Shark"
Shark was what Koa named the small puppy she had rescued weeks before, now being able to walk and run and eat some hard foods it was about time she settled in a name.

"Thank you Daryl. Let's go home okay? I don't know but I think I heard shots."

"What?"

They got on Daryl's motorcycle and sped as fast as it could go to Alexandria.

It had been a very long time since Daryl and Koa had sat out on the porch and since then they had gotten closer, closer than Maggie and her and closer than Glenn.
They had become best friends that talked to each other about everything.

"Who the hell are those guys!" Koa pulled the rifle off her back that was given to her for hunting by Daryl.

Daryl just sped up and pointed his crossbow as they entered the gates.

"Daryl! There breaking the watchtower it's gonna send the whole gate down. I need you to take everyone to safety and-!" Rick's words were interrupted as the watchtower fell, walkers pouring in and the men who had invaded shooting people at random.

"Fuck!" They ran and Koa ran without a target, unable to find anyone before she was met by a man with a carved W in his forehead, his teeth in horrendous condition and his hair long and greasy.

He shoved the gun to her chest and pushed her into a building. It was the doctors and she was horrified as she saw the women shit dead on the floor.

"And that's what's gonna happen to you if you don't just listen!" He was very clearly mentally impaired and Koa remembered her mother's words when she was so so little

"If a man is threatening you, you do as he says promise me you will never disobey if your at stake okay honey?" She had just been beaten by her father and young little Koa cried as she swore.

It was wrong but Koa couldn't help but notice that he was kind of attractive and then she realized what she was thinking and instantly regretted it.

"What are you even doing to us." The man was surprised at her calmness.
There are walkers infesting through Alexandria and men with W carved in their heads are leading them.

"We are the wolves. And we're-" the man was cut off now noticing Koa and taking in what she looked like.

His eyes traced up and down her body and his words mangled.
"I'm Owen. Leader of wolves."

"Your sick!" She spat at him and he just grabbed her by her throat, he was very tall but very thin.

"Look, look, I don't want to hurt you okay? I just- i-" he seemed conflicted by his own actions.

"You're one mentally ill son of a gun huh?" She laughed with his hand around her throat.

"I could say the same."

"Your arm-" Koa reached to it and Owen stood so shocked she was actually concerned about a slit on his arm he got from the gate as he was almost choking her to death.

"I need to get out of here I need to find my dog." She looked at him seriously as if she didn't care about anything else.

"Walkers are everywhere, your dog's dead and everyone you love is too. There is nothing left but wolves."

"Oh really?"

"Yes."

"I happen to still be breathing dip shit."

He looked at her and laughed.

"Funny, funny."

"I know."

"Give me your gun."

"You have one already!"

"I want it so you don't kill me bitch!" He seemed annoyed

"If I was going to I would already."

"Then? Why haven't you." He seemed genuinely confused.

"You don't seem like a bad guy." The words made her realize how dumb it was.

Walkers were banging at the door and Owen broke the glass, shoving Koa out quickly and then running into the street with her.

They ran to anywhere that looked secluded enough to catch their breath and before she could react Koa felt arms wrap around her and growling grew a little too close for comfort.

"Shit!" She grabbed the walkers arm trying to push it off desperately looking at Owen as he struggled with a walker himself before she felt it fall to the ground with a gunshot looking at Owen amazed he just saved her life.

"Come on let's go!" She pleaded for him to come to her before he got bit and he tried to run before a walker had pushed him to the ground.

He stopped moving and was accepting of his fate, the corpse snapping and about a inch away from his throat when Koa kicked it's head off dragged Owen up and ran with him.

Koa began to tear up, it was out of the blue but she missed her dog and her friends.

"Why did you save me?" He pulled her behind a tower and climbed up to a safe spot.

"Why did you save me?" Her words conflicted him.

"I just thought I saw something in you.
You aren't this, you're better I think." She was unsure of her words but she always found the best in even the worst people.

"My name is Koa by the way, Koa Cordova."

There was this tension between them that had been more than noticable and before either of them could act on it Koa watched in horror as Daryl stood ontop of a building pointing his gun directly at Owen.

"No!" Koa jumped and shoved Owen to another post happy when she saw him fine but felt a warm liquid began to drip down her chest and arm.

"I-"

Daryl screamed her name and his face turned pale as he watched the woman he adored fall with a arrow in the side of her shoulder to the bottom of the tower.

Rick and Michonne watched in horror as her body fell against the hard ground causing more blood to spill.

They all felt as if the world stopped.

Owen jumped down, picking her up in his arms and struggling to pull her back up to the safe spot in the tower.

Daryl just sat there in stared in horror forced to watch her die or so he thought.

Many explosions went off and only a few made it out, Owen carrying Koa and Daryl holding him at gunpoint.
