Koa woke up in a very strange place, she had a bed that had a very clean duvet and white lace that looked like it hadn't been touched.
There was a light on when she looked up and the room was a baby pink color.
She tried to sit up but immediately felt a horrendous pain in her shoulder and the back of her head where she found stitches in both. She remembered the night of the death of Alexandria and she wondered where she was, how she has gotten there.
She was weak and she had IVs in her which meant she had been in some sort of sleep or coma she couldn't eat or drink in.
She yelled for anyone, the window closed and she looked around the room to her clothes on a chair. She prayed that she hadn't been left here and everyone died for her to be next.

"Daryl! Daryl!" Maggie yelled dropping the cart she was hauling and Daryl to her concerned.
They ran to her room where they had been keeping her safe for about a week.
They had found a safe place Jesus had lead them too.Daryl bursted through the door and tears strolled down his face as he saw Koa laying there in shock to see them.
"Daryl!" Her weak tried to move to him but he came to her and embraced her ever so gently.
He cried as he hugged her tightly, she began to cry aswell.
"What happened to me Daryl." She looked up at him in despair.
"I- I tried to-" he didn't know how to say he had shot her.
Maggie stepped in the room and hugged Koa opening her window so she could look at the thriving land she was on, another community.
"Is everyone okay?"
Maggie looked at her sadly.
"Carl was shot, the doctor didn't make it and-"
Daryl jumped up and ran out of the room leaving both of them confused.
"You're gonna heal up soon, the arrow, we thought it went through your neck."
"The arrow?" Her eyes filled with concern.
"Daryl, Daryl shot me. I remember now." She grieved as she remembered watching Daryl's eyes sink as he let the arrow fly.
"He didn't mean to, he-"
"I know, it was my fault I shouldn't have saved Owen but I don't know."
Soon Daryl came bursting into the room with a month old puppy that Koa quickly recognized.
"Shark!" Daryl placed it on the bed and the dog looked happier than ever to see her again.
Daryl sunk to the back of the room chewing his nails and looking down, guilty.
"Can I talk to Daryl please?" Maggie nodded excited to go tell the others she was alive.
"Daryl I just want you to know that it wasn't your fault." Smiling warmly she found the strength to sit up.
"Lay down girl your gonna rip you're stitches!" He snapped and quickly shut up.
It was a long moment of silence before Koa spoke again.
"It's not your fault."
"Who's god damn arrow was it then?"
"Who moved into it?" She laughed at how ridiculous she had been.
"Why'd you even save him?" He said bitterly.
"I- he saved me multiple times and if he hadn't saved me I'd be a skeleton on the floor of Alexandria right now."
Daryl scoffed at her knowing she was right but hating to admit it.
"We locked that bastard up, told em if you died we would kill em." He looked mad.
"Thank you but I want to decide that, he did save my life."
"And took countless others!"
Before the argument could began there was a knock on the door.
Koa was shocked to find Rick, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie and even Carl standing at the door.
"Carl! Your alive?" Koa looked shocked and he just gave a silent nod.
"How ya feeling?" Rick spoke soft and caring, Michonne's worry showed on her face as she looked at Koa's stitched shoulder.
"I'm okay, better than expected. When can I get up?"
"When your healed."
"But-"
Michonne interrupted there discussion.
"Why did you save Owen." Her words were cold and cruel and the reality of the thoughts people would have towards her for saving him crept in.
"He saved me like three times." She admitted blushing.
Michonne just looked at her disapproving as Koa cuddled Shark.
*
Days went by and soon Koa was out walking with Maggie who wanted to help her with her recovery before she had to decide whether or not Owen would live.
"You know, he carried you all the way here. Daryl had him at gunpoint the whole way often trying to take you from him." Maggie spoke smiling at her as she gently held her arm as Koa walked out for the first time in a oversized shirt.
"Yea Daryl's a real good man I just wish he wouldn't beat himself up for it. It was totally my fault."
"Yea he is." She was obviously trying to say something that Koa was oblivious too and they proceeded to walk gently out the mansion like house.
"Woah, where the hell-"
Jesus ran to Koa unaware she had been conscious.
"Koa! Are you okay? How are you feeling?" He was excited to see her awake you could tell because when he was excited his voice sped up a little.
"Yea, yea I'm fine just- just a little sore I suppose." She flashed a weak smile.
As they walked for the next couple weeks, with Shark always by Koa's side she began to wonder about Daryl.
Had he really taken care of Shark all that time?
It warmed her heart a little to think about Daryl carrying Shark out the board of walkers protectively and then feeding Shark, hunting more to be sure to have some for the companion. It made her heart flutter a little.
