Believe it or not Damien loves honesty as much as he loves praise. Does it hurt sometimes? Yes, but he's heard multiple times that "the real world is gonna hurt" from adults. At first he thought that being able to accept criticism would earn respect from his father, being young and taking in criticism simply wasnt always so easy. But growing up this skill was much more valuable, especially since all he had were yes men in his life.
He especially adores this honesty from Anya, ever since they've become friends he's made it his goal to maintain it for as long as he could and taking feedback and hearing her out helps with it. While he can get a bit defensive at times, him and her both know that he accepts it and tries to change for the better after that point.
