PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING-

Chloe Pov

******

I was alerted by Cinderace that Goh was waking up.

I turned around, about to put my hands over his ears again- I wanted him to sleep until we got to the lab, he needed it- when I saw why he was waking up.

He was tossing and turning, his face creased in a frown. His hands were gripping Cinderace's arms very hard, turning Goh's fingers from their usual almond color, to chalk white. "Ash..." He whispered, trying to break free of Cinderace's grasp.

I shook his shoulders, and he opened his eyes. "Ash?" He muttered, tilting his head a little and squinting.

"No, not Ash. Chloe." Whenever Goh woke up, it usually took a minute or two for him to talk in complete sentences. (ANOTHER Headcanon of mine that you got to see earlier- and when he's really nervous, or scared- etc.- he talks like this too :D) ((He was trying his best to talk in complete sentences in the Ketchum household, he didn't want to seem weird or anything))

"Where's... Ash?"

"He's back at home, resting."

"But... Ash..."

"No, come on silly. I'm not Ash."

"Call... Ash? Please?"

I sighed, and gave up almost immediately. Goh probably wouldn't leave me alone until we called Ash. But I tried one more time.

"Ash is most likely asleep, Goh. He might not answer."

"Call Ash." This time he didn't pause, but he still had that air of sleepiness around him. He handed me his phone.

"Good thing I know your password." I unlocked the phone, and immediately smiled. His homescreen was Ash, happy and smiling, eating something. Those little Galar Scones he liked so much, probably.

I pulled up his contacts. The first one I saw was the only one in the speed-dial section.

Ash.

It had the little heart emojis on either side. I laughed, and pressed call.

"Now calling Ash. Now calling Ash."

"Hello?"

He picked up- his voice sounded scratchy through the phone, and probably sounded that way on the other side of the line too. "Here, Goh. I called Ash." I said, handing him the phone.

"Ash!" He said, happily taking the phone, and nearly dropping it. "Hey, Goh. how are you?"

"Good! You?"

"I'm fine. Mom said I'm getting better, so I might not have to go to a hospital."

Goh's face lit up, and he hugged the phone close to his chest.

"That's ... awesome! When... do you ... think... you'll be back?" Goh was trying his best to talk in complete sentences, instead of short detached words.

"I don't know, maybe tomorrow. But it's good to know that at least I'm not dying."

"I don't... know what I'd do... if... you were dying."

"Well, I'm not, so you don't have to worry about that."

"Cinderace... put me... down... please." Cinderace complied, and Goh stumbled a bit when his feet hit the ground.

He held Cinderace's paw, and continued walking with the phone against his ear. I watched him walk away, the lab just barely in sight. Those two would probably talk for hours.

But, now that Ash had also taken a test, and there was a possibility of them getting together, it was time to put my plan into action.

I was going to let Ash know that Goh liked him- but nothing more.

ASH POVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

"Thanks Mom! Yes, I'll be careful!"

I yelled, running out of the house. I still didn't feel one-hundred-percent, but I wanted to go back and see Goh.

I ran fast, knowing in five minutes, a bus would pull up nearby, and I could ride it to the lab.

I skidded to a stop beside the road- the bus was pulling up, right on time.

I paid for a ticket, and got on.

Cerise Lab, here I come!

***

I stepped off the bus, and saw Chloe sitting on the steps to the Lab. "Hello, Chloe."

"Ah, Ash! Just the guy I wanted to see! Come with me."

She grabbed me by the wrist, and dragged me inside. She pulled me into the guest room. Goh was sleeping on the bed- the bottom one.

My bed.

"Oops, wrong room." She said, and dragged me back out, and we stopped in another room. "Okay, Ash. I have something really important to tell you, and I need your honest answer."

"Okay. Uhhh... What is it?"

"Ash, Goh really likes you. A lot. Do you like him too?"

My voice died. I couldn't speak.

"I... uh, I... well... I..."

"Take a deep breath, and talk- that is, if you want to."

I took a breath. This was it. Time to come to terms with things.

I took another breath- a deeper one.

"Yeah, I... I do." My voice cracked.

She squealed. "YES! Oh this is awesome-"

"But don't tell him, okay? I want to tell him myself."

"Well, of course I won't tell him. But I will help you and him become boyfriends."

I blushed nervously.

"T-thanks Chloe."

"No problem!"

She let me out, and I walked to the guest room. Goh was still sleeping.

I gently shook him awake. I wanted to talk to him- it didn't matter if I had to wait a minute for him to be able to talk back correctly.

"Mmmmmnnnnnnnnn..." He mumbled, turning to face me. Goh's eyes slowly opened, and then he fought to get out of bed as soon as our eyes met.

"Ash!" He said, throwing his arms around me when he was free. I hugged him back, and said, "Hi Goh."

He smiled, and said, "Better?"

"Yeah. Much better."

"Good."

"So, Goh. Want to come get breakfast with me?"

He nodded, and I grabbed him by the hand. Instead of going into the kitchen, and having breakfast in there, I took him outside.

"Wait!" He squeaked, digging his heels into the ground.

"What is it?"

He gestured down at himself- and winced when Grookey whacked him on the head with their stick.

"Oh yeah. You still need to get changed." I said, rubbing the back of my neck.

He nodded, and walked back inside.

I sighed, and sat on the concrete. "Pika pi?"

Pikachu nestled his head under my hand, and I petted him half-heartedly.

"I was telling the truth, of what I told Chloe. I really do like him." I whispered.

"But here's the thing. "

"Pika?"

"Does he actually like me too? I mean, even Mom said he did. "

"Pika pi!"

"Guess I'll have to find out."
