(Ash POV)
The music in the elevator wasn't the best, but it wasn't as terrible as the last time I was in an elevator. When we hit the right floor, Goh hesitated. "How can I face them? How will I tell them?" He whispered.
I hugged him tight. "We'll face them together. Okay?" He took a deep breath.
"Okay."
We walked down the hallway, looking for Goh's door. He stopped suddenly, and I bumped into him.
"Here we are." His voice was strained, and his hands were clenched in fists and shaking. He opened the door, not even bothering to knock.
"D-Dad? I'm home!" Goh's father peered around a corner, and locked eyes with his son. "Goh! How are you?"
"I'm fine..." Goh said, dropping his gaze and watching his hands- held so unbearably tight- turn white.
Mr.Walker swept Goh up in his arms like a small child and twirled him around. Goh smiled, and he was no longer holding his hands so tight.
I walked in, unsure what to do. Mr. Walker spotted me and said, "Why hello Ash. Goh said he'd be bringing you. Camille isn't home yet, but she'll be home in about an hour. Goh, you said you had something to tell me, right? "
"Y-yeah."
"Can Ash hear it too-?"
"He's ... already heard."
"Alright then! Come, sit on the couch. Let's talk."
Goh sat timidly on the couch, and reached for my hand. I gave it to him, and he squeezed the HECK OUTTA IT.
"You... You promise you'll love me, no matter what I say?"
Mr.Walker looked at him like he'd grown three heads. "Of course! You're my son."
"You promise you won't be mad?"
"Yes."
" Promise? "
" I promise."
Goh took a deep breath.
"One more thing... Do you promise not to tell Momma, and let me tell her?"
"I promise, honey."
Goh squeezed my hand so tight, to the point I couldn't feel it and it was turning purple. I put my other hand over his, and whispered, "Goh... I can't feel my hand..."
He let go quickly, and flexed his fingers. I rubbed my own, trying to fix the circulation.
He took another deep breath, and burst out crying.
Mr.Walker and I tried to console him, but he buried his face in his hands and said nothing, sobbing.
Goh suddenly got up and started pacing, rubbing his eyes furiously.
" Dad... I... I don't know how to do this... but..."
He took one last deep breath.
And he plunged in.
"I... I like guys, and I know you and Momma disapprove, and Momma thinks it's witchcraft, and she'll probably kick me out, and Dad, I don't wanna go-"
Goh's father quickly got up, and threw his arms around his son.
Goh lost it. His sobs were heart-wrenching and despairing.
"Oh sweetheart, I'd never throw you out for that! I'm happy you've come to me with this. Who's the lucky guy?"
Goh smiled, rubbed his tearstained face, and pointed at me.
Oh man...
Mr.Walker opened his arms to me, and I gently hugged him.
All of a sudden, the door opened. "Well, what's going on here?"
Mrs.Camille was home. Goh rubbed his face again, and I felt his arms go around me. "One down, one to go." He whispered, quickly kissing my cheek while his parent's backs were turned.
I kissed his hand, and he smiled.
He got up and yelled, "Momma! A moment please!"
Mrs.Camille came to the couch, and looked at Goh with a hint of a glare. "Something happened." She declared, cupping Goh's face in her hands and turning it left and right.
"Walker?"
Goh's father stepped back.
"Not my place to talk, honey."
Goh breathed in and said- quite loudly, his face still in her hands- "I like guys! No matter what you do... you can't... you can't change it!"
Mrs.Camille looked at him, appalled and shocked. She let go.
Then, her face hardened and she pointed at her husband. "Walker, my office. Now."
Goh winced, and sat down so close to me, our sides and hips were pressed together.
"This... might've not been the best idea..."
"Agreed. But hey, we got it over with!" I raised my hand for a high-five, and instead of getting a high-five, Goh got up and sat on the wall next to the door his parents had disappeared into.
I went over with him, and pressed my ear against the door. I didn't really have to though, I could hear them yelling from the couch.
(POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING I'M SORRY IT'S GOT DOMESTIC ABUSE AND LOTS OF YELLING)
"I don't care what you think, Camille! He's our son, for Arceus's sake!"
" I will not have a boy like him in the house! He never comes home anyway, Walker, admit it!"
"CAMILLE! Listen to yourself! You're talking about throwing out a ten-year-old just because he likes boys?"
"And you don't think that's a bad thing. Why don't we just file a divorce and be done with it then, Walker?! You can go to a bar and reel in as many men as you like!"
"Camille! Just because I don't think it's wrong, it doesn't mean that I like men as well! People are changing Camille, and we don't need to stay stuck in our old ways forever. We can change too-"
"I don't believe you, Walker!"
I heard a loud smacking sound, and Goh clasped his hands over his mouth, tears rolling down his face. I held him close. " Please don't fight..." He whispered, his voice cracking.
Mr.Walker opened the door, a red mark across his cheek. I shielded Goh from them, burying his face in my shirt.
Mrs. Camille and Mr.Walker looked at each other, then at their sobbing son. I glared up at them and said, "Look! Do you have any idea how much you're hurting him?"
Mr.Walker crouched down and rubbed Goh's shoulder. "I'm sorry, buddy." Goh looked up at him, and then looked at his mother.
She glared at him for a moment, and then her face softened. "I'm sorry too, sweetheart. I shouldn't have slapped your father, and I should change my perspective sometimes."
"Yeah, you should." Goh mumbled, turning away from them. He closed his eyes and snuggled into my chest again. Mr. Walker reached for Mrs.Camille's hand, and she reached for his. They got up and hugged, whispering that they were sorry to each other. True love argues, and argues terribly, and then they make up and love each other once more. (Woah, add that to the quote book-)
I gently picked Goh up, and he looked at me.
"Emotional rollercoaster?"
"Emotional rollercoaster." He agreed.
(Don't you agree as well?)
