IT WAS QUIET. TOO QUIET FOR HAWKINS' LAB'S OWN GOOD. Down the lab's halls, all you could see was the fluorescent lights flickering above that made the hall look almost orange. The lights hummed with the quiet vibrations of the walls. Silence filled the air, but not for long.

A doctor in a lab coat ran through the door with sweat dripping from the huge bald spot on his head. Behind him was the loud alarm of the lab. As he ran turning the corner, his heart was racing faster than ever, telling him to get as far away as possible. With every breath, came a pant.

Finally, he'd reached the elevator, relief flowing through his body. He frantically pressed the button on the wall, hoping for the elevator to open and to not get killed. He turned back for a quick scope. Luckily, there was nothing around. Turning back to the button was another push of his finger.

He looked back again. He knew it was close. He was hoping he wasn't next. He had a family to get home to– he promised to get home.

His dark thoughts were lifted when he heard the relieving chime of the elevator. The doors opened and the man jumped inside. He went to the corner and frantically pressed the button to the lobby.

The doors hadn't closed yet.

For a better view, the man moved to the middle of the elevator. In his eyes, all he could see was the boring grey hallway and the continuous pattern of the flickering lights. Now, his pants of breath were slowing down.

With every soft bam, the walls would lightly shake. Hearing the breath of something abnormal made him look up. Only, he wished he hadn't. As the monster pulled him up, he let out the loudest blood curdling scream he could, trying to get someone to notice he was in trouble.
