ISABELLE WINCHESTER SAT ON THE COUCH NEXT TO ELEVEN'S FEET IN Mike's basement once again. She couldn't explain how she really felt. She simply just sat there, her head basically in the clouds, every so often glancing at Eleven who'd been exhausted from using her powers. Mike was also next to her, but she didn't mind. "What was Will saying? Like home... Like home... but dark?"
"And empty." Lucas sighed as Mike stood up from his spot next to Leanne.
"Empty and cold. Wait, did he say cold."
"I don't know." Lucas said angrily. "The stupid radio kept going in and out."
"It's like riddles in the dark."
"Like home. Like his house?"
"Or maybe like Hawkins." Nathaniel suggested.
"Upside down." Eleven weakly spoke. Everyone's eyes darted to her. Bella's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She wondered how Eleven even knew that in the first place.
"What'd she say?"
"That's it." Bella said in a whisper, marching over to the D&D board, taking a seat at her usual spot. She recalled the other night, when Eleven was talking about the demogorgon and how Will was hiding. Mike rushed to her side, also taking his seat.
"Do you remember? When she showed us where Will was, she did this." Bella said, imitating Eleven's actions from the previous night and flipping the board over. Dustin, Nathaniel and Lucas also went to their spots, their eyes on Bella. "Upside down."
"Dark. Empty."
"Do you understand what they're talking about?" Lucas asked, turning to Dustin and Nathaniel.
"No."
"Not a clue."
"Use your brains, sissies. Remember, El took us to Will's house when we went to find him, right?"
