2 days later...Jack sat in the hospital bed with his right hand on his forehead. He was stressed and most of all, upset.
Karin walked in the room at that exact moment and said," Honey are you gonna be okay?! I just heard the news."
Jack didn't even look up. He just stayed looking down at the bed.
He then said," What if you wanted to become something in this world... but the thing you wanna protect most is what's stopping you?"
Karin paused and said," If this is about Carl and Mark, you know that haven't been home in at least 2 days."
Jack then looked up and said," Why? Where are they?!"
Karin then said while crossing her arms," You may have lost your flames, but that doesn't mean to change who you are. Those two left to change. They feel guilt because they couldn't do more to help you."
Jack shrugged and said with cold emotionless eyes," Yeah... I guess so."
Karin then sat down on the bed and said," Jacky. You've never really been one to be upset. You're always busy looking after the others and keeping them up. Where's my little Jacky at?"
Jack then said," He's... I don't know."
Karin then put her left hand on Jack's shoulder and said," You should go find them after you've healed. Speak with them. They need to hear from you Jack."
She then left the room, leaving Jack sitting in silence.
Jack then looked out the window and said," Mark, Carl. I'm sorry... but it will be a little while before we see each other again. Good luck my brothers."
Meanwhile...
Mark stood inside an abandoned apartment building and said annoyingly," When am I gonna be able to training."
Daniel smirked and said," Oh calm down. We'll start soon."
Mark looked around and said," So... where exactly will we be training?"
Daniel gestured to the basement and said," Down there. I know it sounds really weird, but trust me. The basement is huge and has a bunch of training machines and objects to help anyone get stronger."
Mark clenched his fists and said," Alright! Finally get to train!"
Daniel smirked and said," Alright. Let's go."
They both walked into the huge basement with a bunch of equipment. Mark forced a smile and said," Next time I see them, I'll be stronger. Sorry Jack, Carl. Wait a little longer for me guys."
Meanwhile at a local museum...
Carl looked at a nice portrait of a man with a bow staff fighting against the strongest martial artist in the world.
He smiled and said to himself," I wish I could be as confident as him."
A women standing over him said," What? You wish you could be as confident as who?"
Carl jumped backwards in shock and said," Huh? Who are you? Why were you listening to me?"
The women laughed with her arms crossed and said," Kid. You won't believe this at all, but I'm glad I finally found you. I was your grandpa's student."
Carl adjusted his glasses and said," What are you talking about?"
The women chuckled and said," The man with the bowstaff in the pick is your grandfather. He was once known as the first powerless hero."
Carl paused then said," Wait what?! My grandpa was a hero?! And he did that without a power?"
The women nodded and said," You heard it right. Look I have a picture right here."
She then pulled out an old pick of an old guy with short back hair holding a bowstaff and smiling. To his right was a little girl with black hair smiling brightly at the camera.
The women pointed and said," The little girl was me, that old guy is your grandfather. I was the last disciple of your grandfather. He was known as The Unit."
Carl grinned to himself and said," Wow. I never knew that my family line was something.... actually I never even got a chance to meet anyone in my family line."
A tear strolled down Carl's cheek as the women squinted at him. She then said," I'm guessing it's because of the people your father got himself involved with... they're the reason your grandfather is dead. Your mother and father were not good people. I'd say it's a good thing you were left at the Orphanage at a young age. If you weren't you would've probably became a villain."
Carl nodded and looked back at the painting. He then clenched his fists and said," I want you to help me."
The women looked at him with one of her eyebrows raised and said," With what?"
Carl looked at her while smiling and said," I wanna get stronger, smarter, and I wanna hear all about my grandpa."
The women sighed and said," I suppose this was bound to happen. After all my plan was to meet with you anyways. Your grandfather told me to give something to you once you reached a point in your life... it seems you've reached it. Come, follow me. I'll show you my masters temple."
Carl followed behind as they left the museum. He smiled and said while cleaning his glasses," Wait a little longer for me guys. Next time, I won't be as weak."
