Carl looked up at the bowstaff atop the shelf. He smiled and said," One day I'll wield that. I'll protect my friends no matter what."
Sally walked over and said," You still got a lot of work to do before you can wield that bowstaff bro."
Carl picked up a wooden one and said," Yeah I know. That's why I wanna get back to training right away."
Sally chuckled and said," You're way more confident than when I first saw you. I suppose that's a step up, but I wonder if your physical abilities increased in any way."
Carl clenched his wooden bowstaff and said," Alright. Give me a chance to prove myself. I'll show it."
A few minutes later they went to the back of the temple where a decent sized plain was at. They use that as their fighting zone. A battleground in ways.
Carl walked out onto it while holding the staff. A boy a few years younger than him approached on the other side.
Sally clapped and said," This young one is the top 3 of this dojo. If you can beat him. You have proved it to me."
The young boy chuckled while crossing his arms. The boy chuckled and said," This guy really?! He looks like a loser. Like he gets bullied in school for being a damn nerd."
All the other kids said simultaneousl," Ohhhhh"
Sally cleared her throat and said," Watch your mouth kid before I beat you."
The kid chuckled and said," Can the dude not speak for himself? The headmaster speaks for him? Speak for yourself pussy."
Sally then yelled," That's enough!"
Carl then started walking slowly towards the kid while the other kids were cheering on the boy.
The boy grabbed his bowstaff and said," Take off your glasses. I will not fight someone with glasses."
Carl smirked and said," Well that's too damn bad."
He then slammed the bowstaff against the kids head, knocking him out instantly.
The kids were speechless and so was Sally.
Carl then put the bowstaff on the floor and said," Sorry kid. I went a bit too extreme, but I don't have time to play your little games."
He then adjusted his glasses as Sally clapped. She smiled and said," You've definitely outdone yourself Carl. You knocked him out with a single hit. A feat nobody has been able to do in this dojo."
Carl then walked over to Sally and said," My final test."
Sally smirked and said," You got two more tests. One is the 100 armed last stand. And the final test is a secret until you succeed with the other."
All the kids gasped as some of the adults gasped. Giving a kid the hardest test in the dojo. The 100 armed last stand is where one person grabs their bowstaff and heads towards the center of the stage. A bunch of test dummies will then surround the person and release a barrage of attacks. The person that successfully beats all 100 men, successfully becomes the strongest bowstaff user.
A guy walked over and said," Are you sure about giving him that test? He won't last very long. Might not even make it past 15."
Sally crossed her arms and said," I'm pretty confident about this candidate."
Carl and Sally walked to Carl's locker. Sally leaned against it and said," I'll give you time to prepare. Do what you want for the next 2 days, but in 2 days, be prepared to face one of your hardest challenges yet."
Carl sighed and said," I'm not sure if I'll succeed. Just 2 weeks ago I was weak and powerless. You can't just get strong that quick."
Sally sighed while crossing her arms. She then said," You never know until you try. You're a genius. You managed to get this good within only 2 weeks."
Carl shrugged and said," Ah. I see. Well... I'll try my best."
Sally them tapped him on the head and said," Remember. You can treat me like a big sister. If you ever need to talk, I'm here. Now go enjoy yourself. A quick break. Use this time as you will, just remember about what you will face when you come back."
Carl nodded and adjusted his glasses. He then smiled and said," Thank you Sally. I swear to become stronger and enjoy my life. I'll become the greatest powerless hero in the world. I swear it."
Carl then walked out of the dojo holding his backpack. A voice then said," How longs it been, Carl."
Carl paused. He knew exactly who it was which made him even more paranoid and anxious.
Carl said while breathing heavily," W-why are you here?"
The person then stepped out from behind a tree and said," I'm here to see you and Marky. And maybe that other guy you two seem to be so found of suddenly. That red head seems to have taken my place."
Carl then yelled," Y-you're wrong! You left. You were adopted. We didn't replace you. A few months after you left, Jack showed up. He was around our age and was really depressed at first. Me and Mark decided to help him. It was a win win in the end."
The person chuckled and said," Alright sure. Just remember who you're talking to Carl. I didn't do anything wrong. I just dropped in to say hi."
