Chapter 5: Explanation

*MADISON'S POV*

I'm laying on my bed doing nothing, just listening some music with my headphones on my ears. I closed my eyes and enjoying the music. That's why I almost get a heart attack when someone shakes with my body like they think I'm dead. I quickly open my eyes and when I see Sophia, I pull the headphones down to my neck. "What's going on?" I ask without any clue. But her face is in some weird grimace. Like she can't choose which emotion let out first. "What's going on? Are you serious Mads? I thought we're best friends" she half yells at me and then sits on my bed with a groan leaving her mouth. "What are you talking about Soph?" I ask confusedly. I really don't know what she's talking about. "Oh please, stop playing that dumb girl. I'm talking about Luke" she gives me a look and cross her arms on her chest. "You mean that boy from that band you have a crush on? What do I have in common with him?" I ask her and raise my eyebrow. "You know it's not just a crush. I really love him. And I thought that when he's gonna see me at the airport, he will feel the same way. But he didn't. I always wanted him to looking at me the way how he was looking at you. I couldn't explain it that time, but then I saw this" she starts telling me and then she takes my computer and start to search for something. When she finds it, she hold me the computer with some article. "Read it and tell me if it's true" she says and looks at me. I just wanna laugh at first and tell her it's a bullshit but when I look at her and the way she's looking at me makes me to read the whole article. It's full of bullshit, just like I thought. I'm not his girlfriend and I definitely didn't go to the airport to surprise him. It's just a stupid coincidence that my best friend is in love with a guy who's in some band and actually that this guy kinda likes me. It's not my fault at all. I sigh. "So?" she asks and furrows her eyebrow. "So, it's not true. I'm not his girlfriend. Are you crazy? And by the way, let me remind you that you were the one who made me to go to the airport with you. If it wouldn't be for you, I wouldn't be there" I explain. "And what can you tell me about those 'rumours' when you were talking to him in the night club?" she asks. I know she's trying to prove me that something is going on. "Yeah, this. We just met when I was waiting next to the bar and trying to order my drink, but the bartender was ignoring me and then he came there and he served him just the second when he came there and I just let out that sound you let out when you're just totally annoyed and then he turned to me and then we just talked for a while, well, like not really, I was mostly rude to him, but somehow he bought me a drink and then I left him there" I explain to her the situation she asked me about. So, you wanna tell me that he was looking at you on the airport that way just because he remembered you from the night club" she states. It was more statement than question. "Yeah, probably" I say and shrug. I can't tell her we're texting for a while. She would be totally furious.

*LUKE'S POV*

I was thinking about this for the whole week while we're in LA. I really want to buy her some gift. I just wanna show her how much I really care about her and that I don't wanna be just friends with her. I hope that when I come back to Sydney, we will finally meet. Not randomly at the night club or at the airport where are like hundred people around. I want to take her somewhere. I'm thinking about my special place. I want to show it to her, but I'm not sure about it yet. Anyway, it's my special place, and just in case it wouldn't work well between us I want it to stay it just my special place. My phone buzzes suddenly I pull it out of the pocket and open the new message.

From Maddie: Where did you get my number?

I furrow my eyebrow. She didn't care about it before. Why would she care about it now? Why does that even matter?

To Maddie: Why? Does it matter? I get it and that's important. Isn't it?

From Maddie: Just tell me where did you get it.

To Maddie: Fine. If that information really matters to you... I got it from my friend.

From Maddie: What friend?
