*MADISON'S POV*
Well, if I have to be honest, those girls aren't that bad. But anyway, I was feeling a little bit alone anyway. All three of them were talking with Sophia, which is not actually the problem. The problem was, that they were talking about the topics I don't know anything about. So I was just basically sitting there quietly. At least, I taught their names. One positive thing. My phone starts to buzz and Luke's name appears on the screen. I pick it up. "Hey there" I say with an automatic smile on my face. "Hey" he says. "I need you to come outside" he adds. "What? Why?" I ask curiously. "Just come outside" he says again and hang up. I sigh, stand up from the bed and go downstairs. Luckily, my dad is probably working on some papers in his home office. I open the door and see the tall blonde boy is standing there. "Hi" he smiles and bite on his bottom lip. "What's going on?" I ask him. "We have to talk" he says. "Talk about what?" I ask. This time he doesn't answer. Instead of it, he sits down on the stairs. "Sit down" he says and pat on the spot right next to him. I quietly sit down next to him. "Do you trust me?" he asks after the moment of silence. "What?" I'm totally shocked by his question. "Just answer me Madison. Do you trust me?" he speaks again. I don't have any idea what's going on. If I did or said something. I can see in his eyes that he's hurt. But I don't know what could hurt him. "Yeah, of course I trust you" I answer. Why wouldn't I? "Then I'm asking you, why? Why would you do that?" he asks and I don't have any idea what he is talking about. "What the hell are you talking about?" I ask him back. "Don't pretend now that you're so innocent. When we came back from the holiday, you went out with that guy you were on the beach talking. You were out with him the same day as we came back. I tried my best to be the best you can have, and this is what I got for my trying? Thanks" he tells me and I'm speechless. "Luke, that's not true" I start to defend myself, but he doesn't give me any chance. "You know, I thought you're different. Why, tell me the right reason why you are with me then?" he asks. "Listen, I don't know who told you what, but that's not true" I start again. I want to explain it to him, but he cuts me off once again. "Madison stop. I don't need a girl who is lying to me. Molly told me, that she saw you with some guy sitting on the bench in front of the same restaurant where your father called me that time when I first met him. Well, you probably don't deserve this, but I wish you just the best in your life. I hope that you won't regret who you replaced me by" he says and stand up. "Luke, let me explain this" I stand up and catch his arm to try to stop him. "Madison, how do you want to explain this? You cheated on me. I don't think I deserved this, but whatever. It's over" he says and pulls out his arm from my weak grip. I feel the first hot tear streams down my face. Why wouldn't he let me to explain that? It's not true at all. I would never cheat on him. He gets into his car and leave. I come down on the stairs and let my tears falling down. I put my face into my hands and cry.
*LUKE'S POV*
I still can't believe it. How could she? I thought that she might be different. I can't believe I spent my money to take her on the holiday and then she just cheated on me like it's not a big deal. I definitely wasn't in the mood to listen some stupid excuses. She were just messing with my head. Yeah, she wasn't into me at all, and then so suddenly she started to be interested. I am so stupid. She was just fooling around with me. I'm so stupid. I'm thankful for the friends like Molly. If she wouldn't tell me, who knows how long I would let her to play this game with me. When I park the car on the driveway, I take the phone into my hand and delete everything what's related to her. All pictures, messages, even her number. Plus unfollowing everywhere. I have to get rid of her. I don't want to have anything in common with her.
*MADISON'S POV*
I can't believe what happened last night. Can someone just wake me up? Or can I just wake up from this bad dream? I wanted to tell him the truth, but he wasn't listening to me. When he left I wasn't able to think properly. I was just sitting on those damn stairs and crying my heart out. If my mum wouldn't walk out of that damn house, I would probably fall asleep there. Crying is so exhausting. The problem is, I can't stop it. I don't even want to, why should I? I honestly don't care about how I'm looking today. I don't have anyone who I should do that stupid things for. Like brush my hair, why should I? Nobody is going to see me anyway. Why should I put some make-up on? I don't need it anyway. I stand up from the bed and go downstairs. I put my hair into the high ponytail and go to the store. I buy to myself an ice cream bucket, few DVDs and drive back home. Yeah, the truth is that people were looking at me like I'm the most desperate person in the entire universe, but I don't care, why should I? The only person I cared about just stubbed the knife in my back and left me there bleeding out. Yeah, that's how I feel. When I walk inside the house, I don't even bother to put off my UGGs and I go to kitchen to take a spoon. I put the first DVD into the DVD player. The Notebook. Great. I look at other three DVDs I bought and realized it's all that romantic shit. Yeah, that's what I need to watch. Irony. But I'm watching it anyway. And eating my ice cream bucket. With my feet in my UGGs on the couch. If my mum would see that, she would kill me. But she's not here, so whatever. Suddenly I hear the doorbell. "It's open" I shout at whoever it is. I actually don't care. "Damn, Madison" I hear the voice and when I turn around, I see my best friend standing there. Or should I say ex-best friend? I don't even know. "What do you want?" I ask her with my mouth full of ice cream. "I heard what happened and I just came to talk to you" she looks at me with searching look. "What exactly did you hear?" I ask and follow her movements with my eyes, until she doesn't sit down on the couch. "That you broke up with Luke" she says. "That's incorrect. He broke up with me, pff" I tell her. "Yeah, I meant, like, that you're not together anymore. Why would you cheat on him?" she asks. "What? I didn't. Who were you talking to?" I reply to her. "Dylan. You know, we're together now, and, you know, he's friends with Luke" she says. "Well, I'm pretty sure you remember when I told you about my father's business dinner, where I met that guy who I met before when I was on holiday with Luke" I say and she nods. "Well, so I guess that I don't have to repeat what I told you before, because you know how it was. The thing is, that Molly saw us, and she told Luke and he just didn't even give me a chance to explain anything. He just left" I say and shrug, because my new life motto is: I don't care. "Did you call him?" she asks and I shake my head. "Why? So he can tell me, that I made that story up? No thanks, I don't need to hear that. If he really thinks that, it's his problem" I shrug. "Yeah, so that's why you're watching these movies right now and eating the ice cream bucket" she says when she take a look on my new collection of DVDs. "Okay, so now, go upstairs and get ready" she orders. "I don't wanna go anywhere" I whine. "That wasn't a question if you didn't notice. So, go" she tells me, and I involuntarily stand up from the couch and drag my ass upstairs to my room.
*LUKE'S POV*
"We will play just video games, right?" I ask when we enter Dylan's room. "Yeah, sure" he says and smirks. "I'm serious, I don't wanna talk about what happened. The past is in the past" I say and he nods. "Okay, whatever. Just video games" he says and lift up his arms into defending gesture. We start to play FIFA and after about 10 minutes later the doorbell rings. Dylan pauses the game and goes to get the door. I don't have any idea who is that, but I hear some whispering from downstairs. I'm actually really curious what's going on down there. I just stand up and want to sneak out of the room and find out what's going on, when the room's door suddenly opens. Dylan walks in first, then Sophia and she literally has to drag someone into the room. Her. "What the fuck is this?" I yell at Dylan. "I'm sorry bro, I didn't know that. I have nothing to do with this" he says. I look at Sophia. "You two are going to talk. Now" she says. "You" she points at her. "You will tell him what you told me few days before" she tells her. "And you" she looks at me and points at me. "You will listen to her" she gives me a look. Madison looks at me and then she tries to walk out of the room. It's so obvious that none of us want be here right now. "No, you're not going anywhere" Sophia stops her when she pulls her back, holding her wrist. "He's not gonna believe me anyway. This is pointless and useless" she whispers to her, but I can hear her anyway. "Do it!" Sophia tells her, and then she drag Dylan out of the room, and the last thing I hear is the sound of locking the door. These few second when we're staring at each other seems like forever. Well, I'm looking at her and she tries to avoid the eye contact. I sit down on Dylan's bed. "Fine, whatever it is, tell me. I'm really not interested into spending and wasting my time with you" I tell her. If I have to listen her stupid excuse or whatever it is just to get out of this place, I will.
*MADISON'S POV*
I hate her. I hate her for doing this to me. "Then why should I even tell you the truth. You don't care about what really happened. And for your information, I'm not gonna waist my words for you" I tell him. I see him smirk with the corner of my eye. I roll my eyes and sit down on the floor, resting my back against the wardrobe. "You don't get it. Do you?" he says and change his position on the bed, lying on his stomach and having his head on the opposite side then before, closer to me. I glance at him. "You have a chance to tell me your truth, like you call it, but instead of it, you're not even trying" he laughs carelessly. "Like you said, it's over. Like I said, it's pointless and useless to explain something to someone who didn't care about it before" I snap at him and he looks kinda shocked. He stand up from the bed and sit on the floor right in front of me, resting his back against the bed. "Why do you think I don't care? Do you think I don't wanna know why you cheated on me?" he asks and I roll my eyes. Here we go again. "At first, I did not cheat on you. At second, I would never do that to you. At third, you just heard something from someone, and then do something without asking the other person what actually happened there. It seems kinda unfair to me" I look right at him. "Fine, then tell me what actually happened there" he grins at me. I look at him with searching look. He's looking at me. "Fine" I sigh. "Well, I'm listening" he says. "First, it wasn't a date. Second, we weren't there alone. Third, all of it was just a stupid coincidence. He's just a son of one of dad's business partners. I didn't know that. When I came back home, my dad told me I have to go with him. I didn't have any other choice. And when we get there, they weren't there yet and when they came he was there. And for your information, he was picking up on you and I just tried to defend you, but he didn't stop and I was so annoyed, and then his mum just nailed it with tip-off, that we would be nice couple, and I said I already have a boyfriend and when my dad gave me a look, I was totally pissed off and had to leave. So I went out and sat down on that bench and he just came after me and then we were just talking out there for a while and then we went back to the restaurant. That's all" I tell him. He wanted to hear the truth, so I told him the truth. "And what about the part when you were wearing his jacket?" he looks at me and when I look into his eyes, I see something in them. It's, I see hope in his eyes. "I was just cold, so he borrowed it to me while we were outside. You would do the same thing" I shrug. Then he stands up and quickly sits down right next to me. "I'm sorry. I should ask you first. I'm an idiot. Can you please forgive me?" he says with his face just inches away from mine. "Why should I? I mean, Luke, you broke my heart. Do you really think you're gonna fix everything what you said to me with just simple sorry?" I look at him. "I know that I did hurt you. I told you I'm an idiot. I know that's not an excuse, but if you would give me another chance, I promise that I'll fix everything, even your broken heart" he says and smiles at me.
