[Ok, I'm gonna try something new with this chapter. Basically its a backstory that has nothing to do with the main group of survivors, but told in a completely different way. Tell me if you like it, thisll probably be the only time i do this though.PEACE!]
Day 1 of project S.F.E (sickness free Earth).
We have began working on making all living creatures immune to all known diseases by mutating flies to lay eggs on a host, and the larvae will strengthen the immune system and eradicate the diseases as they reach the host. We have began mutating the flies
Day 2 of project S.F.E
Little progress has been made on the havenflies. We have started searching for suitable animal hosts.
Day 9 of project S.F.E
Flies are days from completion. We will begin testing soon.
Day 14 of project S.F.E
Flies have been introduced to a chimpanzee.
Day 19 of project S.F.E
We have injected the chimp with the common cold.
Day 21 of project S.F.E
The worms worked. The larvae removed the disease from the chimp. Our top scientists are now working on the flies to make the host immune to more disease.
Day 28 of project S.F.E
All test are a success. We have now made five chimps immune to 6 different life threatening diseases. Now searching for human host subjects.
Day 32 of project S.F.E
Human test subject 15 has been introduced to havenflies.
Day 34 of project S.F.E
The chimpanzee subjects have began dying. Human test subject 13 has become immune to H.I.V.
Day 38 of project S.F.E
The flies have mutated without any contact with scientists. They are seeming to act more...aggressive.
Day 40 of project S.F.E
Human subject 15 has began acting strange, she has been bleeding from her eyes and mouth. She has also been banging her head on the walls and screaming. "they"re everywhere! They're killing me!" We have sedated subject 15.
Day 41 of project S.F.E
Subject 15 is no longer effected by the sedative. She has attacked and bit subject 10. Subject 15 was separated from the rest of the subjects and is now being researched.
Day 42 of project S.F.E
A lab explosion has occurred. Havenflies have been exposed to the world.
Day 1 of the infection
Already 800 people are infected. For gods sake its only been 6 hours. Most have gone home to their families, but i have to stay to try and fix this.
Day 2 of the infection
I had forgotten that we still had 30 human test subjects, all of them had turned. I managed to kill 7 of them, but it took a lot of work. The weak spot is the head. I trapped the others in section 4-B. I don't know how much longer the barricade will hold.
Day 3 of the infection.
I had to move to the underground lab because of the bombings. Now I'm living basically right next to the barricade. Good thing some of the cameras and speakers weren't destroyed on the surface.
Day 6 of the infection
Im glad I still have my rations. Over 3 years worth. Some survivors came to the doors a day ago, asking for help, I turned them away. They came back with more survivors, threatening to kill me and blow up the lab. Good thing some infected chased them away.
Day 15 of the infection
The infected mutated. There was a gas leak in section 4-B and the infected began to go blind and shoot a noxious gas from there face. I collected a little bit of gas and analyzed it. The "fumers" seem to spread the infection by shooting out a gas filled with eggs of the havenflies. When the fumes touch a host, the eggs go into the eyes and mouth and infect them. I believe that it is happening on the surface too. I saw it with the cameras.
Day 20 of the infection
I cant go on much longer. Im thinking of going to the surface to look for weapons. I don't feel safe with this barricade as my pillow.

I cant believe it, the damn things mutated again! I call them brutes. The fumers were basically infecting themselves. When high amounts of havenfly larvae get into a host, the host becomes giant, distorted, and hard to kill.
Day ?? Of the infection
The second wall of the barrier was just blown down. Im not going to last much longer. More people showed up to the rubble looking for supplies. I finally got the courage to go and talk to them. I gave them food, water, and cloths in exchange for a revolver and one bullet.
Day...what the hell am i thinking, i give up, i quit.
Im gonna do it. No, I cant, my family might still be alive. Ive been charging my phone with one of the generators and reading the texts they sent me before all of this. I found some pictures my daughter took on my phone too. I miss them so much. DAMIT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!
The only thing keeping me alive is a steel door, and its breaking. its now or never.
Im going to turn the camera off before I do it, that way if my family finds it, they wont have to worry about seeing my die. If you do find this alexis, sweetheart, i want you to know that I love you and your mother so very much. I wish I could say more but they are almost in here. Goodbye, I love you.
