"I know, its just.... I cant believe it actually happened." "None of us can. But we just need to push on." "Hey guys, its getting dark, lets head back to the hospital." "No, we need to get to Minnesota and help out with that cure." "We cant Adam, infected get more active at night." "Fine I'll go alone." "But Adam..." "I'm going with or without you." I gathered some supplies and just before I left, Pvt. Walked up to me. "Here you go. He handed me a flare gun with three flares. "Thanks." "Use em if you need to and if we see it we will try to get to you. And if we cant, shoot em with a flare, they burn easily." "I'll remember that." And then I was off. About an hour of walking later and I decided to stop and take a break. I started a small fire and then I heard rustling in the brush. A bear charged out of the bushes ready to kill. First I fired a flare into the night sky. Second, I pulled out my .44 magnum and unloaded every shot I had, which was only three and I missed twice. The bear pinned me to the ground and just as it slashed my arm, multiple shots were fired into the face of the bear. It jumped off of me and then everything went black.
