3rd P.O.V

"You four have been chosen to go to a different school..." Maleficent pauses for effect, staring down Mal and her friends. "...In Auradon." As soon as the name escapes her lips, the kids attempt to run, only to be caught by Maleficent's thugs. Mal faces her mother incredulously.

"What?" She cocks her head in disgust. "I'm not going to some boarding school filled to the brim with prissy pink princesses!"

Evie steps up beside her with a fond smile. "And perfect princes." She notices the judging look that Mal sends her and quickly adds, "Ugh."

"Yeah, and I don't do 'uniforms'." Jay adds, "Unless it's leather. You feel me?" He raises a hand for Carlos to slap, which goes ignored as the nervous boy steps behind Mal.

"I read somewhere that they allow dogs in Auradon," He hurries. When he doesn't get the desired reaction of fright, he continues, "Mom said they're rabid pack animals who eat boys who don't behave."

Jay creeps behind him with a sly grin, "Woof!"

The nervous boy jumps and spins on his heel, whacking him in annoyance.

"Yeah, Mom," Mal argues, "We're not going."

"Oh, you're thinking small, pumpkin! It's all about world domination."

Maleficent grins before looking at the small crowd around her. "Knuckleheads!"

Her thugs follow as she walks away. "Mal," She sings.

Her daughter sighs and widens her eyes in annoyance as she and her friends follow Maleficent back to their parent's base of operations.

ALI

I lean against the wall of Ben's bedroom as he paces up and down the length of it, holding palm cards in his hands. He reads off of them, practicing the speech he's prepared for his coronation. I watch for a moment as his nerves get the best of him and he drops the cards. As he sighs in frustration, I move across the room to his side quickly thanks to my long legs and crouch down to pick them up as he collapses into his desk chair.

"What am I doing, Ali?" He whines, "Dad was right, this is too young to be crowned King. I mean, what if this VK transfer is a mistake? What if I'm just... wrong about everything?"

I sigh and lean against his desk, facing him. "This is a good thing you're doing, man, alright? And... even if it does end up blowing up in your face, I'll be right there with you to help you clean the mess up. Okay?"

Ben groans and faceplants on the desk, and I laugh as I pat his head gently. "You'll be fine, dude, relax. Making a mistake isn't the end of the world, and besides- this isn't going to be a mistake. I've known you your whole life. You're great at making decisions and settling disagreements. You've got this, buddy."

He pulls away and smiles at me reminiscently. "Remember when we'd have play dates as kids, and Aladdin let us use the magic carpet? I was what, six, seven?"

I laugh sheepishly. "Yeah, wow. That was back when I was around nine, so... yeah, you'd have been seven. That was so much fun - at least until I got in trouble every time you hurt yourself. Being older isn't always the best thing."

Ben laughs and shakes his head, taking the palm cards from where I had placed them on his desk. "You were a good older brother figure, though. Always doing what I wanted, making sure I wasn't bullied at school."

"All those detentions for threatening to set Abu on the mean kids; you persuading the teachers to let me off early with your goody-two-shoes reputation," I grin, moving to sit comfortably in his desk chair as he stands up. "You ready to practice that speech again?"
