"Detention again, Miss Stein? This is becoming quite the nasty habit." He slammed his Butcher Knife down on the table. "And my regular... Miss Morningstar."

"What are we gonna do about Holt?"

"What can we do?"

"He's hopeless."

"OI! KEEP IT DOWN. This is detention, not a tea party!"

He cutely sip his small cup of tea. I grumbled in annoyance. I was in the best mood in my whole life I could do cartwheels around the normie's highschool.

"You heard Jackson. Someone's framing him!" Frankie said lowly, cautious of Mr. Hackington. "How're we gonna prove that, love?" I inched closer, listening in.

"What about Clair and Chad? Maybe they can help." Deuce scoffs. "Yeah, right. Just march right into enemy territory and strike up a conversation. What could possibly go wrong." I nodded in agreement. "Totally not the targets getting killed." I added.

"It's a long shot at best. And Bloodgood will throw us out of school if we did that." Lagoona stated. "We can't let them do this! This cycle has to end!" Frankie was a little too loud, which ticked our teacher off.

"I said KEEP IT DOWN!" He threw a knife at her to which she yelps and innocently— yet in fear— smiles. "I can barely hear the violin solo!" He starts vibing to the violin solo. 'Slay queen.'

Frankie sits back down and starts whispering to Abbey. Deuce leaned back until he was near me. "Hey dude. What was that bubble burst in the office?" I sigh. "I was just very pissed off that a teenager is getting killed for doing pranks. He could've at least went to jail for a few nights." He nods.

"I know you care about Jackson and Holt a ton. Maybe you can burn the whole town down?" He jokingly suggested. I silently laugh with him.

"Believe me, I was considering on doing so. But my uncle stopped me and bought me an ice cream. Though he did take my powers away for now."

"Harsh, dude.."

The door bursts open to reveal Heath. "ABBEY! I'm here to rescue you from detention!" A knife hits the wall, close to him. "Yikes! Uh— Gotta go!" He slams the door shut.

Mr. Hackington had fallen asleep. Frankie had carefully and quietly snuck out of the window. She waved at us— to which we waved back. She closes the windows shut, scaring Mr. Hackington awake.

We all sit up straight with a smile. He gave Frankie the Snowstein a bewildered look but dismissed it as her hand waved at him. He had quickly fallen asleep.

Her hand quickly snuck out of the window and gave us a thumbs up before jumping off. We all let out a relief sigh.

"Is no use! Cops everywhere! Am not very policed about the situation." Abbey sassily remarked before clapping and laughing for herself. She soon stopped at our expressions. "Is no time for jokes I get that." She facepalmed herself.

"Today is Halloween. What are we gonna do? I just know Holt didn't do it, but we've got to be able to get into New Salem to prove it!" I sigh.

"But how? Those normies are so racist I can't even stand it. I need to sit down." I slowly sat on the floor. "Yeah. That sheriff will stone cold lock us up for good if we show our monster faces up there."

"But we can show ours." We turn to see Clair and Chad. "Clair! Chad!" Frankie's neck sparked up in excitement. "I knew you'd come." She approaches them.

I look up at Deuce and hold out my hands. He grabs them and lifts me off the ground. "Thanks."

"We want to help Jackson, or Holt, or— I'm still kind of confused about how this whole thing works." Clair rolls her eyes at him.

"Just tell us what you need us to do."

"Well, if Holt didn't do it that means somebody set him up. And whoever set him up doesn't care for monsters too much. They went to a lot of trouble making it look like Holt did it. If we're lucky, they didn't cover all of their tracks."

Frankie showed us a picture on her iCoffin. "Lilith was behind the attacks on the normie school. But we still don't know who was emailing Cleo or posting on Holt's Crypt Place or Critter Pages, or why." Ghoulia nodded and moaned in response, typing away.

"Ghoulia managed to track the IP address of whoever was updating Holt's social network sites. She traced it to an old computer in the library that nobody ever used. But if someone did it would've been caught on camera. We had to somehow get into the school's security room and check the footage."

In confusion, I watch as Cleo and Van Hellscream converse fashionably. 'Who would've known?' Frankie gave the signal to go "greet" them. 'Finally. I can't stand Chad's flirting any longer.'

"Don't you two have something more important to talk about?" Frankie asked with her arms crossed. Cleo shined her flashlight at us.

"Yes. Like; Where do normies keep all their delicious candy?" Frankie looked at her weirdly. 'Understandable, Abbey.' Frankie turned back to the two. "And what you did to Holt. Come on, we're taking you to the sheriff. You're gonna explain everything."

"I'm sorry I-I didn't mean for all this to happen." Van Hellscream apologized. 'That's right bitch. Feel guilty.' I side-eyed Cleo, who wasn't doing anything. I glare at her and nudged her shoulder. She flinched. "Me either..." She said. 'Wha-Wha—I—'

The sheriff ate his donut in amusement. He didn't even look like he was considering the fact we want Holt back.

"It just got out of hand. I just wanted things to go back to the way they were— The good old days. Like my uncle used to tell me about..."

She looked back at us, feeling uneasy of our glares. "when... monsters knew their place."

Cleo walked up as well. "And I was tired of being treated like a second-class citizen! Just because I'm a monster." I tilted my head. 'Haven't you forgot how normies reacted if they saw a monster? They don't know you Cleo...' I shake my head in disappointment and rubbed my eyes.

"A really well-dressed monster."

"Thank you, Lilith. I tried to use Holt to inspire monsters to stick up for themselves. For what it's worth, I'm really sorry."

"Me too. We don't want Holt to get the Trick-or-Treatment. You can do whatever you want to."

"Within reason of course."

"Natch. But please, let Holt go. He didn't do anything."

I nodded, impressed. 'Impressive girls... Never knew they could apologize...'
