Troubles Ahead

Assistant

"I have no experience being an assistant" I say in disbelief while I plead with my eyes

He once again gets up and walks towards me again and I immediately straighten up and look forward

I am way over my head

"You'll do what I ask you to do and you won't have a fight or a problem doing it very simple. Angel." He says roughly while standing in front of me

Unsure but without a choice I nod my head once

"And there's rules you'll follow of course. You won't be in the bar area at any time after you come into my office. You will stay in this room, you leave when I do so get ready for long nights.
If you mess up on any of my work or on any of my instructions you will have consequences.
You are not allowed to date or hook up with any of my employees. Don't even speak to them for that matter. You're here because you cannot be trusted and I don't need you running around getting to know my people"

I am hearing all of the words come out of his mouth but I can't seem to comprehend this is my life right now..

I look up to see him staring back at me

"I understand" the reply comes out of my mouth before I can stop it

He smiles, genuinely smiles and my god he's so gorgeous why must he be so miserably cruel

"You do" he says while taking a seat next to me "good maybe this won't be as difficult as I originally thought"

He moves his hand over my thigh and circles his thumb a couple times

He is in deep thought while I keep my eyes low, I'm sure he can sense how uncomfortable he can make me so he's toying with me right now

I clear my throat and ask "May I use a bathroom?" I need a moment to think clearly, when he's around it's hard enough to do and I can't even breathe when he is this close to me

He doesn't speak but points to one of the doors in the room, I get on my feet and make my way quickly

Once I lock the door behind me I take a long deep breath, I feel like I was held under water

I stare at my reflection and see my red eyes looking back at me.. what a mess

After I use the bathroom I brace myself and walk back out, chanting words of affirmation in my head

I see him sitting back at his desk on his computer and I go to his side I guess I'll wait to see what he needs from his new assistant

I stand there fidgeting with my hands without making a sound until he finally hands me a thick binder full of papers

"Put these in order by date and name" he was short and cold

I go to grab it with one hand but feeling the heaviness of it I grab it with both

I stand there wondering if I can just have a seat anywhere I don't expect for him to keep me next to his desk on the floor like a dog, but I wouldn't put it past him

I slowly make my way to the coffee table set the binder down, grab a pillow from the couch sit on it on the floor and get to work

Some time has passed with neither of us muttering a word, I do hear music from far away I guess the bar is open now

I have a good flow going with all of the papers he gave me, which is great because there's so many as well as receipts I need to get through

Suddenly someone knocks on the door, he allows them to come in

"Hi babe" Says a pretty blonde walking in with her long smooth tanned legs

I looked at her for a moment but quickly focus back to my work

Of course he has a girlfriend

Focus

"Natalie I'm very busy I thought I told you" his voice is always so cold and deep

She looks over to me and adds "I know I just wanted to see if you needed anything.." She goes around his desk, wraps her arms around his neck and starts whispering

It's getting harder to concentrate.
