Light peered through the windows in Luz's room as it made its way to the corners of her eyes. She squinted harshly at the rays of sunshine as she quickly made her way up onto her feet. She stumbled her way over to her window to slightly close the blinds and dim the room. Then, Luz took a look at her dimmed reflection in the newly installed mirror. She smiled and began to rummage around her belongings to pick out an outfit.

She settled on an outfit consisting of a white tanktop, Eda's grudgby jacket, a pair of low-rise jeans held up with one of her dad's abandoned belts, and she tied together her outfit with a pair of red high-top Converse shoes, and a neutral toned beanie.

She slung her black Jansport backpack overtop her shoulder. It contained her drumsticks and most of her drumset, the rest would have to be stored in Eda's hair.

Luz stumbled her way down the stairs, almost falling due to the weight of the instrument in her bag. She called out for Eda to alert her of her presence. While waiting for the Owl Lady, Luz took a good look around the room she stood in, she never really thought to just look around.

Of course, the room consisted of a truckload of wanted posters, mostly out for Eda, but there were a few exceptions. Luz's first wanted poster was now framed and right beside Eda's. Gus and Willow's posters were also hung beside Luz's. Luz shifted her eyes over to the left of Eda's poster, and there stood an image that almost sent her into a spiral.

It was a framed picture of King's adoption papers.

Before she could get emotional about this though, Eda managed to show up at the right time and start getting her and Luz on their way.

The wind blew through the girls' hair. Eda's hair was barely affected while Luz's was half in her face. Eda began snickering to herself about this, but it didn't last long when she noticed the glum look on Luz's face.

"What's going on kiddo?" Whatever it was that Luz was transfixed on, it was no longer as she had now snapped back to reality.

"Hm? Oh, not much." Luz replied with a smile. Eda didn't even need another take to reassure her that she knew something was wrong.

"Anything... or anyone, on your mind?" The foxy lady asked the girl. Luz looked down at Owlbert, examining the grooves of wood and every imperfection. She had almost forgotten what Eda had asked her.

"Not that I can think of," Luz replied shortly again. She opened up her mouth to truly speak her mind, but decided against it and stared at the clouds. The temperature drop in the air was finally starting to get to her as she shivered and chattered her teeth.

"Mm," Eda mumbled under her breath. Before Luz could say anything, Eda added to her previous sentence.

"I can tell something's up, Luz. But if you don't want me to know I won't pry." Eda stated to the fluffy-haired girl. She didn't turn behind herself to look at Luz, which made Luz feel safer.

"I was thinking about King. I miss him, Eda." Luz whispered. She always tried to have a tough exterior for everyone around her to always think things were going to be okay, but around Eda, Luz knew she didn't need to keep up that stunt. Luz poured her heart out when it came to telling Eda her problems. It was a side no one but Eda got to see, and Eda cherished that fact.

Eda let out a small sigh followed by a soft smile. "I miss him too, kid. I miss him every day.  There isn't a second where he isn't on my mind." Eda paused to recollect herself, which was sometimes hard for her to do. She continued.

"But, King was a brave boy. He sacrificed his life for his people. He carried out the Titan's legacy, and I'm sure his dad would be proud." Eda finished her tangent, but she couldn't hold it in anymore. Tears flooded out of her eyes, but not a single sound escaped the gray-haired witch. Luz tucked her arms around the underside of Eda's arms. She buried her face into her back and let her tears fall and soak her shirt.
