A/N: Hey, guys, Renx here!
Please read this whole author's note.
This chapter will have a few spoilers for book 15, so if you haven't read it yet, you might want to skim through the part where Webs starts talking about the Scorching, but after that, you should be fine, and you'll want to keep reaading, because I think this is my favorite chapter in this whole book.
Also, I've been learning Tolkien's Sindarin Elvish language, and I add ad a few Sindarin phrases to this chapter.
Sorry about any misspellings!

Pelco's POV

"Turn your history books to page 150", Webs said in his annoying slow voice.

Webs, one of these days, I swear I will strangle you.
But for now, I guess I'll just have to live with your frustrating droning voice, I thought to myself humorously.

When I turned to page 150, I found a peice of paper weged inbetween the pages.

"Well, who left this here?", I asked myself softly.

I unwraveled the paper to read it and when I did, I got a shock.

The note read: Stay out of our way, or your life and the lives of your friends will be put on the line.

I gasped.

Whoever the colperates are, they're getting very desperate.
I'd better watch my step.
But, if they think they can make me stop investigating, they're wrong.

"Hrmph, ahem, Pelco, you don't seem to be focused on the leason. Pay attention", Webs said.

"Geez, so annoying", I said under my breath.

"At least this is the last subject for today", Earthreal said.

"Yup, worst subject last like all ways", Avocet put in.

"Ahem, as I was saying, due to a recent expedition to pantala, we now know more about The Scorching than previously."

I now sat up straight; the exprotion to Pantala always facintated me.

"As it turns out, The Scorching was caused by one scavenger: a human named Cotttonmouth.
Cottonmouth thought he could control dragons and use them for war.
So, he kinapped many baby dragons in hopes of training them to obey him.
But, his vilage was attacked by dragons, who then took Phyrria from humans and for over four million years, dragons had control of our conteint. But, Cottonmouth and a few of his followers, excaped from the dragons and sailed away to Pantala.
"There, Cottenmouth discovered something, a weopon he could use to control the dragons."

"The Breath of evil", Oaktail put in.

I felt a shiver go down my spine.

"Yes. Cottonmouth modified the plant so that it would control dragons. But, it took over three million years for the plant to develope into what Cottonmouth wanted it to.
Cottonmouth did not know the great prise he would pay for his desires; the plant took control and for over three million years the plant held his body captive and Cottonmouth's evil thought persisted.
Even when the Breath of evil fell into the shadows, Cottenmuth survived."

There was a pause as everyone waited for him to continue.

"But, we're still talking about the Scorching, which is over four million years after the scorching."

I slamed my head on my desk.

He had to stop right when things were getting interesting.

I tried not to drift off as Webs droned on, but my mind keept going back to the mystery, so finally, I allowed myself to float off.
