Drista and Ranboo were sitting on a bench overlooking the kingdom- Dreams grave under a nearby tree- today is a tough day for Drista for no particular reason- at least that she was willing to tell- Drista was looking for some comfort- and she had gotten really close to Ranboo over the past little while they had been at the castle- she was venting to her friend- and telling stories- "he was always so arrogant- always brash- headstrong- overconfident- but he loved me- we always had the best times- when he would spend time with me- which after the past couple months wasn't much- Sap- and-" she sighed- "George- sleepy George" she chuckled "were always bringing him more prophecy books- that would foretell of his future reign over the world- I always told him it was ridiculous- that if the universe wanted him to rule the world he would've had it already-" she sighed- "where did the books come from?" He asked-

"Some library in ancient rundown village- they ran around exploring and they stumbled across it- the stories told of the four of them-" she said- Ranboo cut her off- "four?" He asked- "Dream, Sapnap, George and- Philza" she said gently- "in their 'prime' you could say- when they were all friends- Dream would leave me- to go with them for days- they had no clue about me till after Phil left- well was thrown out-" she told him as she took in a breath of fresh air- the sun shining on her face- Ranboo was intrigued- "why was he thrown out-" he asked- Drista sighed, "I don't even think Phil knew the real reason- the books foretold that Life would die by Deaths hand- so Dream was scared shitless- that prophecy would come true- but he was so afraid of losing his power to Phil- that he couldn't help himself- he struck a deal with Phil- he would take his kingdom- and let him live his life in peace never to bother him again- or- he could keep his kingdom- and he would curse his first born child- with voices of past gods-" she sighed- "Techno-" he muttered softly- she nodded- anxiety filled her- he could see it-

"You feel guilty" he deadpanned- her head whipped around- "I don't-" she denied- it wasn't very convincing- Ranboo shook his head- "you aren't very convincing- you feel guilty because you're brother cursed one of your best friends" he said honestly- she smiled and chuckled sadly- "how did you do that?" She asked with a sad chuckle- "do what-" he asked- honestly confused- "how did you read me like that?" She asked- he shrugged- "I 'dunno I guess I just know you really well" he chuckled lightly- she smiled- "I guess so- it's nice having someone who knows me" she smiled- he smiled back at her- they sat in silence for a moment- looking over the kingdom- a cool breeze blew by the two- moving Dristas golden hair along her face- she sighed- "I think it's time to go--" she sighed- Ranboo nodded- "you know- your grief shouldn't be taken away just because your brother was-" he paused trying to find the right words- ones that wouldn't hurt so bad-

"A monster-" she finished for him- he shook his head- "that's not what I was going to say-" he- stuttered- "but it's what you wanted to say-" she said in a playful voice- he shook his head but didn't deny it- because how could he- Dream had haunted Ranboo for years- taken his memory- using him- "I'm sorry Ranboo- I- I- I knew what he'd been doing- using his power on unsuspecting people- he'd done it so many times- especially after Phil left- that's when it mainly started to go downhill- Phil was like the moral compass of the group- though they all did some- questionable- things together- he was the one to make sure they didn't destroy anything- to badly-" she remarked

He looked down at the ground and sighed, "you still can't blame yourself for the mistakes of others, no matter how close you were to them" he sighed as they walked to the castle, "you're right" she muttered softly, he smiled they walked into the dining hall with lunch ready for them, they talked for hours about mindless things, then a guard interrupted them.

"Sorry to interrupt, the king has been hurt" the guard said, the two snapped their head around, "what do you mean hurt?" Drista asked, "he was ambushed, we found him by the lake" he told them, "where is he?" Ranboo asked standing up from his chair, "the medbay Doctor Bad is tending to him now" the guard informer the two, they both shoved past the guard and ran towards the medbay, they got there just as Bad walked out of the room with a guilty look on his face.

"What happened?" Drista asked frantically, "an arrow to the shoulder, if it had been just a couple inches over it would've gone straight through his heart" the doc informed us, "is he alright?" Ranboo asked, he nodded, "just out of it and in extreme pain" he said gently, Drista looked confused, "didn't- Sally and Wil like do something today" she asked, Ranboo shrugged, "I could've swore I saw him with her" she muttered, "I'll assemble the troops, no way someone is getting away with an assassination attempt on the king" she said with fire in her voice, Ranboo nodded, Bad just looked at the ground and walked away.
