Disaster Strikes

I sigh a happy, content sigh as I walk up to my house, a small smile plastered on my face. Erik was being a flirty bastard. He started it out of no where earlier when I asked him to facetime. Starting with sexual innuendos then it went to plan dirty talk. My already pink cheeks were even pinker. My permanent blush was more evident upon my face. "What's with the goofy smile? Did someone finally get laid?" The annoying voice of my older sister - at least one of my older sisters - said. I stop and turned towards the voice and there sat on the couch across from Winter.

"Nope. Avery did not get laid. It's her new internet friend flattering her," teased Winter, her hair now a curly messy pulled back into a knotted pony tail. "This may ruin the night you've had but something happened after you left. Chelsea was giving Lou and Kayden a ride home and the car suddenly lost control. They're all down at the hospital. I came by to let you know and if you want, we can head down to the hospital now."

Ty was suppose to meet me here. Where's Ty? "Ty?" I ask and the stressed look upon the older girls face made me sick to my stomach. "Winter Janaya Augustine, where is my boyfriend?" I asked sternly, I ignored the look that my sister gave me because my skin was crawling with worry.

"He was driving behind Chelsea so when Chelsea's car started to spin, it hit his truck and his truck started to spin until her got it under-control then his truck hydro-planed and his truck flipped," Winter explained carefully. As if what she was telling me was somehow going to make me go hide in a corner and cry like a little baby. "Are we going to the hospital or no?"

"Let's go. Tell mom I stayed at Kenzi's or something. I cannot explain," I grabbed Lou's hoodie off of the bar stool and pulled it over my shoulders while walking out to the garage where Winter parked her car, the car that she got for the 17th Birthday. Winter was walking right behind me because her combat boots were making a splashing noise because of the wet pavement.

Disaster hit. Can't text all night like we planned. - Avery.

I send the text to Erik before texting Kenzi to get out of bed because we needed to get to the hospital. No explanation on why but Kenzi being Kenzi...she wouldn't need one. "Can we just go...and not talk."

"Of course."

"What's going on? Hey! What's going on!?" I screamed at the doctors circling Kayden. "Explain to me, what's going on?" It seemed like everything was moving in slow motion. Me being shoved out of the room, and the sound of one of doctor yelling out for a crash cart. This cannot be happening. I cannot lose my best friend.

"Sir, we need to get you checked out," A nurse said, grabbing hold to my arm, I screamed out in pain from the pressure being applied on my arm. "Sir we need to get you checked out, what is your name?" The nurse asked me again.

"Ty-Tyrone Richard Oxford," I muttered out, I didn't feel this pain until now. Adrenaline. The adrenaline had started to wear off. I followed without fighting and that's when I seen Avery rush in through the hospital doors, a groggily Kenzi in a stitch onesie and blue monster slippers, and Winter running behind with an annoyed look on her face.

"Baby!" Avery said, running towards me. Before I could say a word to her, she pressed her heart shaped lips to mine. It was quick but it held all the worry that she was feeling.
