"You're choosing her right?" I asked nervously, the question must have caught him off guard because he looked at me confused. "You're picking Kenzi. I mean...if you don't you're stupid," I said and he nodded. He was going to choose her anyway, even if it was another girl.
"How did this happen? She got cancer and I have to break one of your hearts," Wyatt said, and shook his head. "It's just fair. Kenzi has always wanted just me, Mark was there but...he was just filling a void that I created. Maybe if I paid attention this never would have happened," Wyatt ranted and I knew exactly what he meant. Maybe if he paid close enough attention to Kenzi, maybe he'd never have dated me to begin with.
"She just wants to see you happy."

"Do you think she'll want her guitar?" I ask the music teacher, I was going around the school before class picking up the things that Kenzi may need or want. The teacher gave me a look that asked was I stupid. "Right," I laughed. Of course Kenzi would want her guitar. It'll keep her half sane.
"How is taking the news?" The music teacher asked and I shrugged. She's taking it better then other's have taken it, but what could I tell her. How was I going to explain how Kenzi wasn't reacting to it like we all thought she would.
"You remember when you first started High School and you realized it's not like High School in all those movies you watched and you don't know how to react?" I asked her, and she nodded; clearly confused on what I was getting at. "She's not reacting. She's not crying, she's not freaking out. She's just worrying on not getting to prom."
"So she's being Kenzi with a brain tumor?" The teacher asked, and I chuckled a little.
"She's being Kenzi with a brain tumor."
That's exactly what Kenzi was doing, she was being her with a brain tumor unable to react. "She's getting the tumor removed today, so I'm taking tomorrow's afternoon classes off and going to see her, I might even get Wyatt to go to her," I gave the teacher a wink and she laughed.
"Wyatt finally owned up to his feelings for her?" She asked surprised.
"I don't know, he might have, he might not have. All I know is he know's how Kenzi feels and has known for the past two years so, that balls in his court," I explained and grabbed the black Taylor guitar, and placed it into the case. "Wyatt knows how he feels, he just can't tell her right now because of Lou."
"Lou still hung up on him?" She asked with a hint of what...disgust?
"Yeah, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. She knows how Kenzi feels for Wyatt and she says she knows something more on Wyatt's side but she won't tell us. Then again...she did have brain surgery two days ago. She might not know anything," I said and grabbed her music folder.
"Wyatt will go to her."
"I know, he loves her even if he denies it."

"Kenzi?" I asked into the room, she has her back to me and looking out the window. Her favourite comfy winter sweater on and black leggings. She turned around and looked at me then looked back out the window. "You okay?" I ask her and she just lets out a humorless laugh.
