Week 1 - Gul Rose

As the crows caw,

I look at the clouds

from my ground view as I lay

in the hunter green grass.

The birds

     Fly

          free

               soaring

                    high

               just

          like

     you

Please,

come back.

I miss you.

I know someday we'll meet again.

Not just over a video call

on some cheap call app.

I wanna call you

but I know you don't want that.

Not like

heaven

has a mobile number anyway.

I snap out of it as I remember

the grass is scratchy and thick.

You seem to flood my mind, never drying.

As if the rain continues.

I try to let you out as my own rain pours.

Your face,

I remember like my first

poem.

I miss you like the moon misses the sunlight in the dark.

Enough of the sad stuff,

I try to remember what happened in this spot.

My first dog, she died.

Her white fur reflected the sun's rays

appearing like a shiny crystal.

The fur softly waved in the gentle wind.

Her name...

It's blurry to me

But why?

~ . ~

I awake

I must've fallen asleep

The trees looked almost unreal in the dim light.

It's already dusk.

The field I sit in almost shining

in the little bit of sunlight.

The clouds like ripe strawberries and oranges.

The distant snow capped mountains

seem to be blue and gold.

The pines and oaks deep greens

And chestnut brown.

My own clothes have purple and blue

Shadows.

The trees and mountains tower over the

flower field.

The clouds change from reds and oranges

to pink and purple.

As I seem to mentally picture the moment,

You walk through the tall grass

then you pick some flowers.

Your favorite, the yellow ones.

Wait,

Why are you here?

You're... you're

nevermind.

I shake my head and you

fade away.

As if a ghost,

I feel someone hug me tightly.

"You" I say.

The hug deteriorates.

I'm left alone again.

A small smile takes over my previously

solemn face.

Whether it was a hallucination or your

angel.

I loved it, like I love you.
