Y/n had been pacing for half an hour.

Jimin was behind her, and they were in the mansion. They wanted to spare Angelica the pain of realizing yet another person close to Y/n was suffering, so they told her everything was okay, but they needed to get back to set as soon as possible.

They couldn't film. Jen yelled at them, but when they gave her the look, she realized how serious they were and backed off. That left them alone in the kitchen, Y/n pacing still. Jimin was sitting, drinking his body weight. So, that was why he was drinking like it was going out of style. It wasn't because of the stress of reality TV. It was because of cancer.

"What are we going to do?" Y/n asked, slowing her pace.

"We?"

"Of course, I told you we're in this together."

Jimin kept his eyes on the ground. When Y/n and Angelica found out about Angelica's cancer, Angelica didn't want Y/n to help. Y/n had a sneaking suspicion that Jimin was the same way. So, she went to him, taking both of his hands. That got him to meet her gaze, and she leaned down to kiss him.

He accepted the kiss, sighing into it and cherishing each second. When they parted, Jimin shook his head, but Y/n beat him to it. "Angelica didn't want my help in the beginning. I don't know what you're feeling right now, but what I do know is that you need help. This won't be a repeat of what happened when you were a teen. I won't leave you. I promise."

Jimin stared and stared. She couldn't take her eyes off him, and he was the same way with her. Then, he broke down sobbing, falling apart right in front of her. He dropped to his knees and held a hand over his mouth, Y/n going down to his level to hug him. They embraced, Jimin letting himself go. He didn't care about how loud he was whimpering, he didn't care about the snot that was covering Y/n's blouse. Y/n didn't care either. She stroked his hair, shushing his loud cries that smashed her heart into pieces.

"Please don't let me die," he said in a cry, his voice cracking and hiccupping. His plea was louder than she was expecting, the noise reverberating around the kitchen. It was like a shout, and that terrified her.

"You're not going anywhere," she replied, holding him tighter than before.

It had been almost 2 months since Jimin told her about his past with cancer. Each episode took weeks to film, and seeing as they were on episode 10, and Jimin told her between episodes 5 and 6, it had to have been over a month and a half if not over 2. Y/n wasn't keeping track anymore. It was crazy how time flew by.

"When did you find out?" she asked, and he pulled back to reveal his puffy face and lips.

"A few weeks ago. Right before episode 8. I started immunotherapy immediately. The only good news is that I caught it early. I'm supposed to do screenings once every few months, and I caught it. It's... it's at stage 2. They want to do another surgery to help."

"What will the surgery do?"

"It's a partial nephrectomy. It'll preserve my kidney function, but remove the tumor. If it starts spreading or gets bigger, they might have to do a radical nephrectomy."

"Which is?" Y/n asked, fearing the answer.

"They'll remove my entire kidney and some areas around it, like the tissue."

Y/n wanted to punch a wall. The idea of Jimin undergoing a major surgery such as that broke her heart. She could only imagine what recovering from that would be like. Truthfully, she didn't want to think about it, but for Jimin's sake, she did. And with that, she asked the question she didn't want to ask.
