Ily good luck on reading my trash story!/

Gon stepped out of his car, an old beat up sedan. It wasn't his usual mode of transport. He normally would have taken his Harley but it was at the shop getting fixed at the moment because of his reckless driving.

He slammed the car door shut and started to jog to the front porch.

He slowed down at the steps because they looked as if they were about to fall apart, and he definitely wasn't the lightest person on Earth.

230 pounds in nothing but muscle.

But that was average for a vampire his age.

He carefully opened the creaky door, which was conveniently unlocked, and stepped in.

He was immediately hit by a smell. Not a bad smell, but a smell nonetheless.

It smelt like... dirt?

Yeah, dirt.

Huh, he thought. Maybe the crawl space had just flooded or something? Yeah, that's it.

Gon still hadn't really convinced himself, but he continued into the house.

The reason he hesitated is, well, the smell of dirt and ash is signature to demons. All demons. Even the ones that's aren't assholes.

If a demon had made residence in the cabin, Gon would surely get harassed by it until he left.

But luckily for Gon, demons were a dying species. Not many of them stuck around on the surface world anymore because it had become too dangerous for them.

All because of humans.

Gon scoffed, disgusted just thinking about it. I mean, humans were the reason he fled to these woods anyway.

The house was 10 miles away from any civilization. Not even a werewolf could hear or scent from that far.

Not to mention, the only other thing out here that was considered "civilization" was a Victorian style house 10 miles down the road.

Gon shook his head, trying to forget about the smell and move on.

He stepped through the hall, the hardwood floors creaking from years of use.

The hall opened up into the kitchen. It was small, and a bit cramped, but it would work.

There was another doorway on the other side of the kitchen. He peered through it only to see a bare living room.

Gon slinked into the den and looked around.

It was empty, but for such a small cabin it seemed huge.

It's just the lack of furniture, Gon thought as he moved towards the stairs.

The stairs whined as he moved up them, trying to brace his weight.

Once he was about halfway up the stairs, he heard a small scuttling from the upstairs corridor.

Once he got to the top he stared, unblinking down the hallway.

Nothing.

Okay, I'm just freaking myself out now. There is nothi-

Just then, he heard a small whisper.

"Hello?"
