All of the kids sat on the bleachers. I was drying El off as much as I could using a towel I managed to find in the janitor's closet. Joyce and Hopper were gone to who knows where. Nancy and Johnathan were in the hallway together, and all of us sat in pure silence, contemplating what comes next. More realistically, I was contemplating what comes next. The silence began to grow loud and ring in all of our ears, the only sound being my footsteps pacing across the floor. Mike, with an annoyed expression, looked down at his watch as he then stormed out of the gym."I'll g-" I began,
"No, you stay here with them. I'll go." Robin insisted with a gentle, calming smile as she quickly walked out behind him. How could you not fall in love with someone that sweet? Someone who will take the weight off your shoulders in every situation."You're staring."
"What?" I turned back around to Dustin.
"Simple, you're staring."
"I wasn't staring I just zoned out. Do you even know what's going on right now? I have to take care of all you three brats. She doesn't count, she's the good one!" I responded to him as I pointed to El. She grinned at my kind gesture, even though she didn't really know what I meant.
"I know what's going on, actually. You like her." He wasn't wrong, but of course, I'm not telling him that.
"Excuse me? I do n-"
The loud gym door was pushed open and slammed into the wall, causing me to jump as I turned around to see.
"They're gone. Nancy and Johnathan." Mike burst into the room.
"Yeah, his car's gone." Robin followed behind him.
"You have got to be kidding me." They seriously leave me, the immature fifteen-year-old to take care of four kids during what could be a world-ending crisis? Just my luck.
The three boys stood as they discussed the plan. I sat by Eleven, keeping her calm
"Hey, where are you going? You just said to stick to the plan!" Mike shouted as Dustin proceeded to walk away.
"I am, I'm just gonna go get some chocolate pudding. I'm telling you, Lunch Lady Phyllis hoards that shit.""Are you serious?" Mike screeched in pure annoyance.
Mike and Eleven were in the cafeteria as Lucas and Dustin rummaged through the hoards of chocolate pudding. Robin and I were still in the gym pacing around back and forth.
"This is the first time in like a week we've been alone." She pointed out.
"Yeah," I chuckled. "I guess it is." There was a small, awkward moment of silence.
"Look, there's something I have to tell you." Both of us simultaneously said aloud.
"You can go first," Robin said in a nervous manner.
I hesitated in panic, but I knew this was the right time.
"Can I show you instead?"
My heart pounded as the words left my mouth. My legs began to shake and I felt like I was on a roller coaster. It was like the whole world was caving in. She slowly nodded.
