THIRD POV

Her heart thudded hard in her chest as she watched the scene unfold before her eyes. The sleek frame of her phone was shaking as a result of her trembling hands and she knew it would drop out of her grip at any moment.

The constant blinking of the red dot on her screen indicated that it was still recording. The young woman didn't even know why she was still doing so but at this point, she had lost all control over her body and senses as she just stood there, hidden, a little distance from what she was capturing, like a statue.

An involuntary gasp left her mouth as she quickly cupped her mouth with her free hand as she tumbled backward slightly. The edges of her vision blurred and her heart hammered so profoundly that she was sure it would burst out of her chest right then and there.

The young woman watched as one of the four figures she saw went limp on the ground, the previous scuffle and tussle of the hidden brawl replaced by an uncanny silence.

What had she just witnessed?

Unaware of another looming, watchful figure just meters away, she slowly backed away from the large tree and long metal pole she was hiding behind. As soon as she was at a reasonable distance to not be heard, she broke into a sob as she sprinted, coming to a stop abruptly, out of breath, leaning against the glass window of a closed, dark clock repair shop.

"What the fck..what the fck..", She muttered under her breath in disbelief and shock.

Should she call the police? It seemed like the only reasonable thing to do except she knew she wasn't anywhere near reasonable. What she had been doing was definitely not reasonable by normal standards. But what could she do?

They'll be destroyed if this gets to the police, to the rest of the world.

But what guarantee did she have that if she didn't call the police right now, someone else wouldn't either? Or the three of the seven idols, she adored and worshipped, wouldn't themselves make the same destructive move?

She shakily brought the phone tightly clutched in her right hand and opened it to see the video she had recorded.

Playing it back she realized that it had been too dark to see any coherent face in the recording properly, only an outline could be distinguished. A sudden realization hit her as the recording became silent and the device clattered to the ground as her eyes widened.

This was evidence.

"Shit." She needed to delete it right away. Leave no trace that she had been there or had witnessed anything of the sort that had happened. Her eyes drooped and she frantically searched the ground to see where her phone had tumbled to.

She was practically splayed on the ground as her hands mindlessly searched the rough ground.

"Looking for this?", She heard a rough voice come from in front of her.

She gazed up to see a tall man, with a mask, holding her phone and shaking it tauntingly in his left hand at her.

The young woman jumped to her feet and charged at the stranger but to no avail as she tumbled, helplessly, forward on her unstable, shaking, legs and the man simply took a step backward, as casually as ever.

"Give it back." She spoke with as much conviction as she could muster.

The man let out a scoff. "And If I don't?".
